HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance - 2014-O0008 - Budget Amendmen 8 - 01/23/2014First Reading January 9, 2014 Item No. 5.2 ORDINANCE NO. 2014-00008 Second Reading January 23, 2014 Item No. 5.1 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE FY 2013-14 BUDGET FOR MUNICIPAL PURPOSES RESPECTING THE GRANT FUND TO ACCEPT AND APPROPRIATE FUNDING FROM THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION (TXDOT) FOR THE SELECTIVE TRAFFIC ENFORCEMENT PROGRAM — IMPAIRED DRIVING MOBILIZATION (STEP - IDM) GRANT; AND RESPECTING THE CAPITAL PROGRAM TO ESTABLISH CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECT 8589, NORTH QUAKER/ERSKINE/ NORTH LOOP 289; PROVIDING FOR FILING; AND PROVIDING FOR A SAVINGS CLAUSE. WHEREAS, Section 102.010 of the Local Government Code of the State of Texas authorizes the City Council to make changes in the budget for municipal IDUMoses. and WHEREAS, in accordance with the City Budget Ordinance the City Council shall approve all transfers between funds and departments; and WHEREAS, the City Council deems it advisable to change the FY 2013-14 for municipal purposes and reallocate funds as follows; NOW, THEREFORE, E IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: SECTION 1. THAT the City Council of the City of Lubbock hereby approves changes to the City of Lubbock Budget FY 2013-14 (Budget Amendment #8) for municipal purposes, as follows: I. Accept and appropriate $28,726 from TXDOT for the STEP -IDM Grant, transfer a local match of $7,282 from the General Fund to the Grant Fund, and reduce the Police Department Operating Budget by $7,282. II. Establish Capital Improvement Project 8589, North Quaker/Erskine/North Loop 289, and appropriate $51,161 for the purpose of furnishing and installing traffic control equipment in the interchange at North Quaker Avenue, Erskine, and North Loop 289. The funding source is reimbursement from Texas Department of Transportation. SECTION 2. THAT a copy of the changes made to the City of Lubbock udget pursuant to this Ordinance shall be filed with the City Secretary and County lerk of Lubbock as required by law. SECTION 3. THAT should any section, paragraph, sentence, clause, phrase or word of this Ordinance be declared unconstitutional or invalid for any reason, the remainder of this Ordinance shall not be affected thereby.
