AN ORDINANCE AMDING SECTIr,N 18.1-2 OF ORDINANCE 1695 OF THE CITY OF
LUBBOCK, SAID ORDINANCE BEING AN APPENDIX TO THE LUBBOCK CITY CODE, So AS, T#

E , they Planning and Zoning Commission of the City of Lubbock has
after a public hearing recommended that Ordinance No. 1695, said Ordinance
being an appendix to the Lubbock City Code be amended so as to allow additions
or alterations to nonconforming buildings for the purpose of providing sanitary
facilities; and.,
WHERIUS, the City Commission finds it would be to the public interest, health,
and gener .l welfare to so amend Ordinance No. 1695; NOW THTI O
M IT ORDAINED BY TAT- CITY CMMSSION OF ME CITY OF LUBBOCK:
SECT ON 1. THAT ,Section 18.1-2 of € rd,inance No. 1695, said. Ordinance being
an Appendix to the -:Lubbock City Code, BE and the same is hereby amended to read
hereafter as f ollows»
1 "15.1-2. " Repairs car alteration
Repairs and alterations may be 3 ade to a nonconforming
building or structure; provided that no structural alteration
shall be made except those required by law or ordinance; and
further that these regulations shall never be construed to
allow an addition to a nonconforming building except that
such nonconforming building may be a ddad to or altered for the
purpose of installing and enclosing sanitary facilities such
as toilets and bathrooms and the Building Inspector is
authorized to issue building permits for such improvements.,

1provided however that such improvements to provide sanitary
;facilities shall not exceed 60 aquare feet in area."
SECTION 2. The City Secretary-Trmasurer is hereby authorized and directed,
to publish. this {ordinance once a week for two consecutive weeks in some news-
paper reg llarly published in the City of Lubbock, and this Ordinance shall be-
come effective as an amendment to the Lubbock City Code ten(IO) days after the data
of its last passage.
