AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING A BUILDING LINE ON THE SOUTH-
NAOT CORNER OF COLLEGE AVENUE AND 19TH STREET., AS MORE PARTI-
UTAXLY rDESCRIBED IN THE BODY OF THIS ORDINANCE; PROVIDING THAT
NO rJILDING OR OTHER STRUCTURE SHALL HEREAFTER BE ERECTED,,

LINE AND !THE RIGHT OF WAY LINES EXISTING PRIOR' TO THE BUILDING
LINE ESTABLISHED "HEREIN; REQUIRING EXISTING STRUCTURES ON,, OR
EXTENDING BEYOND THE BUILDING LINE HEREIN ESTABLIS�IED TO CON-
FORM TO SUCH BUILDING LINE WITHIN TWENTY-FIVE (25) YEARS; DE-
FINING "BUILDING LINE" AND PROVIDING THAT SETBACK REQUIREMENTS
UNDER E CITYTS ZONING ORDINANCE AND AMENDMENTS THERETO BE
DETERMINED FROM THE BUILDING LINE HEREIN ESTABLISHED; AND PRO-
VIDING A AVINGS CLAUSE,'
WHEREAS,'Article 1105a,; revised Civil Statutes of Texas provides for
the establishment of building lines on any part or side of any street.,in a city
having a population of more than 15, 000 and the City of Lubbock having a pop-
ulation of ikiore than 15, 000; and,
WHER.EAS4 the City Council finds that public convenience,, safety and
necessity in the City of Lubbock requires that a building lineor right of way line
be establis ed on the Southeast corner of College Avenue and 19th Street to pre-
vent repah, and replacement of structures and trees beyond the building line so
established, such area being required in connection with the widening,, and im-
proving th t part of the streets described more particularly hereinafter in the
body of this Ordinance; and,
EREAS,, the widening and improving of said streets and the estab--
lishMent ornd
building line are necessary and will ultimately provide streets of
desirable adequate width which will aid in relieving heavy traffic in congested
areas in accordance with the City s MajoX, Thoroughfare Plan recommended by thf
City Planning Commission; NOW THEREFORE:
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
SECTION 1. THAT a building line is hereby established on the South-
east corner of College Avenue and 19th Street which is more particularly descril
as follows, to -wit:
(7t East of the present East Property Line of College Avenue)
BEGINNING at a point 68. 57t north of the southwest corner of
Lot 18, Block 1, Ellwood Place Addition to the City of Lubbock„
Lubbock County, Texas;
THENCE north 90 01 east 44.75 feet to a point; this point being
7 feet east of the west line of Lot 18;
11 THENCE north 0 0 Of east 65 feet to a point;
THENCE northerly around a curve to the right, the radius
point of which bears east 251, a distance of 39. 27 feet to a
point 25 feet north of said radius point; this end point being
28 feet west and 22, 23 feet south of the original northeast
corner of Lot 184-1 Block 1, Ellwood Place Addition.
SECTION 2. THAT no building or,structure shall hereafter be erected,
re -erected or substantially repaired and no new structure or parts thereof shall
be erected on that part of the street or land herein designated beyond said
building line hereinabove described.
SECTION 3. THAT all structures on or extending in whole or in part
beyond the �bujlding line established by this Ordinance are hereby required to con-
form to thei, same as established in Section One (1) of this Ordinance within
twenty-five (25) years from the effective date hereof.

ECTION 4. THE term "Building Line" as herein used shall be con -
