ORDINANCE NO. 6675
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 1695 AND THE
OFFICIAL MAP OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK SO AS TO MAKE THE FOLLOWING
CHANGE: ZONE CASE NO. 1913: CHANGE LOTS 5 THROUGH 101 HARLAN
ADDITION., CITY OF LUBBOCK, LUBBOCK COUNTY1 TEXAS, FROM A R-1
TO A C-2A ZONING DISTRICT: SUBJECT TO CONDITIONS: PROVIDING A
PENALTY: PROVIDING A SAVINGS CLAUSE AND PROVIDING FOR PUBLICA-'
TION.
WHEREAS, the proposed change in zoning districts as hereinafter made
has been duly presented to the Zoning and Planning Commission for its recom-
mendation, which was received by the City Council and., after due consideration,
the City Council finds that making the proposed change as hereinafter set out
will be in the public interest; and,.
WHEREAS~ all conditions precedent required by law for a valid amend-
ment to the Zoning Ordinance and Map have been fully complied with, as well as
giving notices in compliance with Section 20 of Ordinance No. 1695, as well as
notices provided by Article IOU£, Vernonrs Annotated Civil Statutes., amended in
1961, and notice was duly published in the Lubbock Morning Avalanche Journal
more than fifteen (15) days prior to the date of the public hearing before the City
Council on such proposed amendment, and the public hearing according to said
notice was duly held in the City Council Room on the second floor of the City Hall,
Lubbock, Texas, at which time persons appeared in support of the proposal; and,
after said hearing, it was by the City Council determined that it would be in the
public interest, due to changed conditions, that the Zoning Ordinance and the
Zoning Map be amended in the manner hereinafter set forth in the body of this
Ordinance and this Ordinance having been introduced prior to first reading hereof;
NOW THEREFORE:
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
SECTION 1. THAT Ordinance No. 1695 and the Official Zoning Map BE
and the same are hereby amended as follows, to-wit:
ZONE CASE NO. 1913
Change Lots 5 through 10, Harlan Addition, as shown
on a preliminary plat on file in the office of the
Secretary of the Planning and Zoning Commission,
City of Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas, from a
R-1 to a C-2A Zoning District. Property is further
described by metes and bounds to-wit:
BEGINNING at a point which bears 2640 feet South and
990 feet West of the Northeast corner of Section 44,
Block AK, Lubbock County, Texas;

THENCE West 177. 06 feet to a point in the half section
line and also being in the East right-of-way line of Loop
289;
THENCE North along the East right-of .. way line of said
Loop 289, a distance of 1513. 89 feet to a point of curvature;
THENCE Northeasterly along a curve to the right in
the East right-of-way line of Loop 289~ a distance
(chord) of 347.15 feet to a point of tangency;
THENCE North 42 degrees, 47 feet East along the right ...
of ... way line of said Loop 289, a distance of 74. 25 feet to
a point in the West line of the Snow Davis Addition to the
City of Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas;
THENCE South along the respective West lines of the
Snow Davis Addition, the McGuire Addition and the
Marycall Addition, a distance of 1891,66 feet to the
PLACE OF BEGINNING, and containing 7. 21 acres of
land.
nc-2A11 zoning is granted only on that portion North of
the center line of 24th Street as shown on a preliminary
plat of Harlan Addition
SUBJECT TO THE FOLLOWING CONDITIONS:
1, Subject to the specific site plan as submitted and approved by
the City Council on July 12. • 1973, which is
initialled by the Mayor and attached hereto and made a part
hereof.
2, That the "C-2A11 zone be limited to offices and "R&A11 district
uses.
SECTION 2. THAT from and after passage and effective date of this
Ordinance s aid lots, tracts and parcels of land described in Section 1 hereof shall
be changed to the Zoning District indicated and the Official Map is amended in
accordance herewith.
SECTION 3. THAT any person~ firm or corporation owning or opera ng
the subject property failing to comply with the conditions imposed by Section 1
hereof shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof, shall be
subject to a fine not to exceed TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS and each and every
day1s violation thereof shall constitute a separate and distinct offense.
The failure of any corporation owning or operating the subject prope
to comply with any of the conditions imposed by Section 1 hereof shall render the
President,· Vice ... President, General Manager~ Local Manager and Local Agent
liable to the penalty prescribed in this section.
SECTION 4. THAT 'hould any section, paragraph, sentence, clause,
phrase or v.ord of this Ordinance be declared unconstitutional or invalid for any
reason, the remainder of this Ordinance shall not be affected thereby.
SECTION 5. THAT the City Secretary is hereby authorized to cause
publication of the descriptive caption of this Ordinance as an alternative method
provided by law.
