S486 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 1695 AND THE OFF! CIAL MAP OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK SO AS TO MAKE THE FOLLOWING CHANGE: ZONE CASE NO. 1542: CHANGE A TRACT OF LAND OUT OF SECTIO 10. BLOCK E-2) LUBBOCK COUNTY. TEXAS, BEING ADJACENT TO THE SOUT RIGHT-OF-WAY LINE OF SOUTH LOOP 289 AND WEST OF QUAKER AVENUE FROM AN "R-1" TO A 11C-2" DISTRICT: SUBJECT TO CONDITION; AND PRO- VIDING FOR PUBLICATION. WHEREAS, the proposed change in zoning districts as hereinafter made has been duly presented to the Zoning and Planning Commission for its recommendatio which was received by the City Council and after due consideration, the City Counc finds that making the proposed change as hereinafter set out will be in the public interest; and, WHEREAS, all conditions precedent required by law for a valid amendment to the Zoning Ordinance and Map having been fully cbmplied with, as well as giving notices in compliance with Section 20 of Ordinance No. 1695 as well as notices pro vided by Article 1011£, Vernon's Annotated Civil Statutes, amended in 1961, and notice was iluly published in the Lubbock Morning Avalanche Journal more than fif- teen (15) days prior to the date of the public hearing before the City Council on sue proposed amendment, and the public hearing according to said notice was duly held in the City Council Room on the second floor of the City Hall, Lubbock, Texas, at which time persons appeared in support of the proposal; and, after said hearing, was by the City Council determined that it would be in the public interest, due to changed conditions, that the Zoning Ordinance and the Zoning Map be amended in the manner hereinafter set forth in the body of this Ordinance and this Ordinance having been introduced prior to first reading hereof; NOW THEREFORE: BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: SECTION 1. THAT Ordinance No. 1695 and the Official Zoning Map BE and the same are hereby amended as follows~ to-wit: ZONE CASE NO. 1542 Change a tract of land out of Section 10, Block E-2, Lubbock County, Texas, from an 11R-111 to a "C-2" Zoning District. Property is further described by metes and bounds to-wit: BEGINNING at a point in the south line of the northeast 1/2 of said Section 10, Block E-2, said point being 189.81' south 89°5713011 west from the southeast corner of said northeast 1/4; THENCE North 27°031 west 819. 661 to a point; ,, THENCE South 62°57t West 15t to a point; THENCE North 27°03~ West 258. 97t to a point; THENCE in a northwesterly direction along a circular curve to the right, the center of the curve being north 62°57' east, 390t from the beginning of the curve, a distance of 183. 78' to a point of compound curvature; THENCE in a northwesterly direction along a circular curve to the left, the center of the curve being south 89°57' west, 215r from the beginning of the curve, a distance of 248. 75' to a point; THENCE North 66°20f22" west, 515. 69t to a point in the south line of Loop 289, City of Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas; THENCE in a northwesterly direction., along the south line of Loop 289, 1372. 53' to the west line of the northeast 1/4, Section 10; THENCE South along the west line of said northeast 1/4 of Section 10, 1764. st to a point; THENCE East 170. 5' to a point; THENCE South 195. 5' to a point in the south line of the northeast 1/4 of Section 1 0! THENCE East 2281/27' to the PLACE OF BEGINNING. SUBJECT TO THE FOLLOWING CONDITION: That development be as shown on the site plan designated as 5B on file in the office of the Secretary of Planning and Zoning Commission and the office of the City Secretary-Treasurer which is hereby adopted and made a part hereof. SECTION 2. THAT from and after passage and effective date of this Ordinance said lots, tracts and parcels of land described in Section 1 hereof shall be changec to the zoning district indicated and the Official Map is amended in accordance herewith. SECTION 3. THAT the City Secretary is hereby authorized to cause publica- tion of the descriptive caption of this Ordinance as an alternative method provided by law. -2- AND IT IS SO ORDERED.
