HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance - 2009-O0079 - Ordinance Amendment Adopted FY 2008-09 Budget; Animal Shelter Etc - 08/27/2009First Reading August 27, 2009 Item No. 5.2 ORDINANCE NO. 2009-00079 Second Reading September 10, 2009 Item No. 5.1 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE FY 2008-09 BUDGET FOR MUNICIPAL PURPOSES RESPECTING THE GRANT FUND TO ACCEPT AND APPROPRIATE FUNDING FROM THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF STATE HEALTH SERVICES FOR ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH; TO ACCEPT AND APPROPRIATE FROM THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF STATE HEALTH SERVICES FOR THE IMMUNIZATION BRANCH GRANT; AND RESPECTING THE CAPITAL PROGRAM BY APPROPRIATING ADDITIONAL FUNDS TO THE ANIMAL SHELTER FACILITY CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECT. WHEREAS, Section 102.010 of the Local Government Code of the State of Texas authorizes the City Council to make changes in the budget for municipal purposes; and WHEREAS, in accordance with the City Budget Ordinance the City Council shall approve all transfers between funds and departments; and WHEREAS, the City Council deems it advisable to change the FY 2008-09 Budget for municipal purposes and reallocate funds as follows; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: SECTION 1. THAT the City Council of the City of Lubbock hereby approves changes to the City of Lubbock Budget FY 2008-09 (Budget Amendment #17) for municipal purposes, as follows: I. Accept and appropriate $108,204 from the Texas Department of State Health Services for Environmental Health. II. Accept and appropriate $232,115 from the Texas Department of State Health Services for the Immunization Branch Grant. III. Amend Capital Improvement Project 91158, Animal Shelter Facility, by appropriating an additional $1.5 million, for a total appropriation of $5 million. SECTION 2. THAT a copy of the changes made to the City of Lubbock Budget pursuant to this Ordinance shall be filed with the City Secretary and County Clerk of Lubbock as required by law. SECTION 3. THAT should any section, paragraph, sentence, clause, phrase or word of this Ordinance be declared unconstitutional or invalid for any reason, the remainder of this Ordinance shall not be affected thereby.
