AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 661 AND THE
OFFICIAL ZONING MAP OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK SO THAT: (I) ZONING
CASE 1417-(A} THE FOLLOWING DESCRIBED PROPERTY BE ZONE:D IN
'tHE "A"kESiO"!NTIAL DISTRICT: THE INCLOSED PROPERTY BEGINNING
AT THE POINT OF INTERSECTION OF THE NORTHWEST RIGHT-OF-WAY
LINE O:F THE SEAGRAVES BRANCH OF THE PANHANDLE & SANTA FE
RAILWAY COMPANY AND CENTERLINE OF 26TH STREET AS PROJECTED
FROM THE EAST; THENCE WEST ALONG SAID CENTERLINE OF 26TH
STREET EXTENDED WEST TO A POINT OF INTERSECTION WITH THE EAST

BETWEEN WEBER A VENUE AND QUIRT A VENUE).
WHEREAS, the proposed changes in Zoning Districts as hereinafter
made have been duly presented to the Zoning and Planning Commission for its
recommendation, which recommendation was received by the City Commission,
and, after due consideration, the City Commission finds that making the pro-
posed changes as hereinafter set out will be in the public interest; and,
W HER E AS , all notices have been given in compliance with Section 25 of
Ordinance No. 661, as well as notices provided by Article 1011£, Revised Civil
Statutes, as amended, and notice was duly published on March 20, 21, and 22,
1953 in the Lubbock Morning Avalanche, and the public hearing, according to
said notice, was held at 2:00 P.M. on April 9, 1953 in the City Commission
Room on the first floor of the City Hall, Lubbock, Texas, at which time persons
appeared in support of the proposals; and, after said hearing, it was by the
City Commission determined that it would be in the public interest, due to
changed conditions, that the Zoning Ordinance and the Zoning Map be amended
in substantial compliance with the proposals; THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
SECTION 1. That Ordinance No. 661 and the Official Zoning Map BE,
and the same are hereby amended as follows, to-wit:
(1) Zoning Case 1417 -(A). The following described property be zoned
in the 11A 11 ResidentialZOning District: The inclosed property BEGIN-
NING at the point of intersection of the northwest right-of-way line of
the Seagraves Branch of the Panhandle & Santa Fe Railway Company
and the centerline of 26th Street as projected from the east; THENCE
west along said centerline of 26th Street extended west to a point of
intersection with the east right-of-way line of proposed Albany Avenue,
being an existing avenue abutting on the east side of Robert Neill
Heights Addition; THENCE north along the east right-E>f-way line of said
Albany Avenue and that line extended to the intersection of said line
extended and the north right-of-way line of 18th Street extended west
from Lane Heights Addition; THENCE east along said north line of 18th
Street extended to its intersection with the centerline of Slide Road
extended north; THENCE north alo~g the centerline of Slide Road to the
intersection with the north line of the alley in Block Two (2.), Lane
Heights Addition, as projected west, said alley being between 16th and

17th Streets;THENCE east along the north line of the alley in Blocks
Two (2) and One (1), Lane Heights Addition, to the centerline of
Vicksburg Avenue' THENCE north on the centerline of Vicksburg Ave-
nue to north line of 12th Street extended west; THENCE east along the
north line of 12th Street to a point 310 feet east of the east line of
Utica Avenue as designated by plat of Westover Heights Addition;
THENCE south to a point on the north line of West Gate Drive Addition
Installment No. 5 as projected from the east; THENCE east along the
north line of said West Gate Drive Addition Installment No. 5, being
along the north line of an alley which is north of 15th; Street, to a point
on the centerline of Quaker Avenue; THENCE south along centerline of
Quaker Avenue to a point of intersection with the northwest right-of-
way line of the Seagraves branch of Panhandle 1!L Santa Fe Railway
Company; THENCE southwest along the ~orthwest right-of-way line of
said railway right-of-way to the point of BEGINNING.
(B). The following described property be zoned in the 11B" Residential
trning District: The inclosed property BEGINNING at the northwest
corner of Cowan Addition; THENCE east along the north line of Cowan
Addition to the northeast corner of Block Two (2), Cowan Addition;
THENCE north to the centerline-of 15th Street; THENCE east along the
centerline of 15th Street extended to the point of intersection with the
southeast line of the Panhandle &. Santa Fe Railway Company's Right-
of-Way; THENCE southwesterly along said Railroad right-of-way line
to its intersection with the projected centerline of the alley south of
Block 7, C. C. Leftwich Subdivision: THENCE west to the centerline of
Orlando Avenue; THENCE south along the centerline of ,Orlando Avenue
projected to the point of intersection with the northwest line of said
railroa-d right-of-way; THENCE southwesterly along the northwest line
of said railroad right-of-way to its inters·ection with the centerline of
Quaker Avenue projected; THENCE north along the centerline of
Quaker Avenue projected to a point projected from the north line of
Cowan Addition; THENCE east to the point of BEGINNING.
(C). The following described property be zoned in the 11H 11 Business
'roning District: The inclosed property BEGINNING at a point of the
intersection of the centerline of Orlando Avenue and centerline projec-
ted of the alley south of Block Seven {7), C. C. Leftwich Subdivision;
THENCE. east to the point of intersection of the said alley and the south-
east line of the Panhandle & Santa Fe Railroad Company right-of-way;
THENCE southwesterly along the southeast line of said railroad right-
of-way to its intersection with the centerline of 19th Street; THENCE
west to the point of intersection with the northwest line of said railroad
right-of-way projectedi THENCE southwesterly along said railroad
right-of-way to the point of intersection of Orlando Avenue projected
and said railroad right-of-way; THENCE north to the point of
BEGINNING.
(2) ZEming Case #428-Change Lots One(}) through Thirteen (13), Block
Ten (10), and Lots One (1) through Eleven (11), Block Nine (9), Sieber
Addition, from the 11B 11 to the 11A" Zoning District (24th Street between
Weber Avenue and Quirt Avenue ).
From and after passage and effective date of this Ordinance, said tracts
above referred to shall be changed to the Zoning Districts indicated, and the
Official Zoning Map is hereby amended in accordance herewith.
