AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 1695 OF THE CITY OF
UBBOCK BY AMENDING SECTION 2.82 ... a THEREOF GOVERNING OFF-STREET
ARKING SPACE;: PROVIDING A SAVINGS CLAUSE AND PROVIDING FOR
UBLICA TION.
WHEREAS, the proposed change in the comprehensive Zoning Ordinance of the
ity of Lubbock as hereinafter made has been duly presented to the Planning and
oning Commission for its-recommendation, which was received by the City Counc·
nd
WHEREAS, all conditions precedent required by law have been complied wi. th,
swell ; as giving of notice, and the public hearing according to such notice was dul
eld in the City Council Chamber on the second floor of the City Hall, Lubbock,
exas; and after said hearing it was determined by the City Council that it would b
n the public interest that the Zoning Ordinance be amended in the manner herein-
ter set forth: NOW THEREFORE:
Err ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
SECTION 1. THAT Section 2.82-a of Zoning Ordinance No. 1695 of the City of
ubbock, BE and is hereby amended to read as follows:
"2. 82-a OFF---STREET PARKING SPACE:
An area for the temporary storage of an automobile which shall be perma-
nently reserved for such purpose and which shall not be within or on any
public street, alley, or other right-of-way. Such area shall:

Have a permanent all-weather surface.
Have dimensions of not less than 81611 x 1810".
Be accessible by an all-weather surfaced drive of sufficient width to
provide for access and maneuvering, which drive shall connect with a
dedicated street or alley. Such drive shall not be required for spaces
that abut an alley. ...
Be appropriately defined and marked.
Be so designed and regulated that no parking, or maneuvering incident 1
to parking, shall be on any public street or walk. This provision doe
not apply to access from an alley.
f. Provide adequate barriers to keep any parked vehicle from extending
into or overhanding any public right-of-way.

g. Be so designed that any vehicle may be parked and unparked without
requiring the moving of any other vehicle.
SECTION 2. Should any paragraph, sentence, clause, phrase, or word of thi
Ordinance be declared unconstitutional. or invalid for any reason, the remainder of
this Ordinance shall not be affected thereby.
SECTION 3. THAT the City Secretary is hereby authorized to cause publica-
tion of the descripti'le caption of this Ordinance as an alternative method provided
by law.
