ORDINANCE NO. SS01
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 1695 AND THE OFFI-
CIAL MAP OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK SO AS TO MAKE THE FOLLOWING CHA E
ZONE CASE NO. 1557: CHANGE Lar TWO, TRACT c. CAPROCK ADDITION,
CITY OF LUBBOCK, LUBBOCK COUNTY, TEXAS. FROM AN "R ... 3" TO A "C ... 4"
ZONING DISTRICT; SUBJECT TO CONDITIONS; PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION
WHEREAS, the proposed change in zoning districts as hereinafter made has bee
duly presented to the Zoning and Planning Commission for its recommendation,
which was received by the City Council and after due consideration., the City Coun-
cil finds that making the proposed change as hereinafter set out will be in the pub ..
lie interest; and,
WHEREAS, all conditions precedent required by law for a valid amendment to
the Zoning Ordinance and Map have been fully complied with, as well as giving not
ices in compliance with Section 20 of Ordinance No. 1695 as well as notices provid
by Article 101lf, Vernon's Annotated Civil Statutes, amended in 1961, and notice
was duly published in the Lubbock Morning Avalanche Journal more than fifteen (15
days prior to the date of the public hearing before the City Council on such propose
amendment, and the public hearing according to said notice was duly held in the
City Council Room on the second floor of the City Hall, Lubbock, Texas, at which
time persons appeared in support of the proposal; and, after said hearing, it was
by the City Council determined that it would be in the public interest .. due to change
conditions, that the Zoning Ordinance and the Zoning Map be amended in the manne
hereinafter set forth in the body of this Ordinance and this Ordinance having been
introduced prior to first reading hereof; NOW THEREFORE:
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
. SECTION 1. THAT Ordinance No. 1695 and the Official Zoning Map BE and
the same are hereby amended as follows, to....-wit:
ZONE CASE NO. 1557
Change Lot 2, Tract C, Caprock Addition, City of Lubbock, Lubbock County,
Texas, from an "R-311 to a 11C ... 411 Zoning District.
SUBJECT TO THE FOLLOWING CONDITIONS:
1. That the "C-2" sign regulations as established in Sections 15.1-1-6 and 17.
of Ordinance 1695, shall apply, except that only one pylon type sign (45 1 in
height and 640 square feet in area) shall be permitted.
2. That one paved off-street parking space be provided on the property for
each 200 square feet of gross floor area, exclusive of garage area; also
that 3 square feet of paved off .. street parking space be provided for each
square foot of total floor area of each retail use.
3-. That an sor setback from 52nd Street be observed.
4. That 19·5. 51 setback from the section line in University Avenue be
observed.
SECTION 2. THAT from and after passage and effective date of this Ordi-
nance said lots, tracts and p1 reels of land described in Section 1 hereof shall be
changed to the Zoning district indicated and the Official Map is amended in accord ..
ance herewith. ·
SECTION 3. THAT the City Secretary is hereby authorized to cause publica-
tion of the descriptive caption of this Ordinance as an alternative method provided
by law.
