HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance - 5503-1968 - Amending Zoning Ordinance 1695 To Make Following Change: Case 1551 - 07/24/1968-. • 'r, ~----~~--------=-=--=-------==----------===----=----=------------~-----------.~ 07-2..4--1..9~B oe-oe-1su,e ORDINANCE NO. ___.S""'"i;50:..13~----fi AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 1695 AND THE OFFICIAL MAP OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK SO AS TO MAKE THE FOLLOWING CHANGE: ZONE CASE NO. 1551: CHANGE THE PROPERTY SITUATED ON EITHER SIDE OF A VENUE Q, BETWEEN FOURTH STREET AND THE ALLEY SOUTH OF MAIN STREET, CITY OF LUBBOCK, LUBBOCK COUNTY .. TEXAS, FROM A "C-311 TO A 11C-411 ZONING DISTRICT; AND PROVIDING FOR PUBLI- CATION. WHEREAS, the proposed change in zoning districts as hereinafter made has been duly presented to the Zoning and Planning Commission for its recommendatior which was received by the City Council and after due consideration, the City Council finds that making the proposed change C!-S hereinafter set out will be in the public interest; and, WHEREAS, all conditions precedent required by law for a valid amendment tel the Zoning Ordinance and Map have been fully complied with, as well as giving notice in compliance with Section 20 of Ordinance No. 1695 as well as notices pro- vided by Article lOllf, Vernon's Annotated Civil Statutes, amended in 1961, and notice was duly published in the Lubbock Morning Avalanche Journal more than .fifteen (15) days prior to the date of the public hearing before the City Council on such proposed amendment, and the public hearing according to said notice was duly held in the City Council Room on the second floor of the City Hall, Lubbock, Texas at which time persons appeared in support of the proposal; and, after said hearing, it was by the City Council determined that it would be in the public interest, due to changed conditions, that the Zoning Ordinance and the Zoning Map be amended in th manner hereinafter set forth in the body of this Ordinance and this Ordinance havinf been introduced prior to first reading hereof; NOW THEREFORE: BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: SECTION 1. THAT Ordinance No. 1695 and the Official Zoning Map BE and the same are hereby amended as follows, to-wit: ZONE CASE NO. 15 51 Change the property situated on either side of Avenue Q between Fourth Street and the alley south of Main Street, City of Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas, from a "C-3 :"to a "C-4" Zoning District as more fully described below: Lot 4, Block 106, East 1/2 of Blocks 113 and 114; Lots 1 through 6, Block 118; Lots 1 and 2. ~ Block 121; Lot 9, Block 134 all in Overton Addition; Lots 13 through 16, Neal and Alexander Addition; Lots 13 through 16, E. P. Earhart Subdivision; Lots 9 through 12, Earhart Subdivision; Lots 4 through 10, Judd and Ellis subdivision; Lots 15 through 20, Judd, Ellis and Ford Subdivision; Lots 9 through 161 Norton Addition; Lots 9 through 16~ Carl Roberts Subdivision; Lots 1 and 2, Safeway Addition; Block 6, Merrit and Wild Addition. SECTION 2. THAT from and after passage and effective date of this Ordi- nance~ said lots, tracts and parcels of land described in Section 1 hereof shall be changed to the zoning district indicated and the Official Map is amended in accord- ance herewith. SECTION 3. THAT the City Secretary is hereby authorized to cause publica- tion of the descriptive caption of this Ordinance as an alternative method provided by law.
