ORDlNANCE NO. 5424
AN ORDINANCE ABANDONING AND CLOSING PORTIONS . OF
AUBURN STREET., THE ALLEY IN BLOCK 631 KlSE SUBDIV:ISION, AND
THE ALLEY IN BLOCK 62, NORWOOD SUBDIVlSION AS MORE PART! ...
CULARLY DESCRIBED IN THE BODY OF THlS ORDINANCE: AND Dffi-
ECTING THE CITY ENGINEER TO MARK THE OFFICIAL MAP OF THE
CITY OF LUBBOCK TO INDICATE THE CLOSING AND ABANDONMENT
OF THE PORTIONS OF SAID STREET AND ALLEYS AS AFORESAID.
WHEREAS., the City Council finds that portions of Auburn Street,
the alley in Block 63., Kise Subdivision and the alley in Block 62, Norwood
Subdivision., as hereinafter more particularly described are no longer
needed for street or alley purposes or for public use; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council. finds that it would be to the public
interest to close, vacate and abandon same for street and alley purposes
and for public use; NOW, THEREFORE,
,., ' :,,BE'• IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
SECTION ~: THAT portion of Auburn Street between North Avenue
P and Avenue Q North Drive, more fully described as follows:
BEGINNING at the Southeast corner of Lot 12, Block 63, Kise Sub-
division of the Roberts and McWhorter Addition to the City of Lubbock#
Lubbock County, Texas;
THENCE West 227. 55 feet to a point in the South line of Lot 13 of
said Block 63 said point being in the East right of way line of Avenue Q
North Drive;
THENCE South a0 21' West along said right of way line to a point
in the North line of Lot 30~ Block 62, Norwood Subdivision of said Roberts
and McWhorter Addition;
THENCE East 236. 36 feet to the Northeast corner of Lot 1 of said
Block 62;
THENCE North 60 feet the POINT OF BEGINNING; and

the alley in Block 63., Kise Subdivision of the Roberts and McWhorter Addi-
tion; more fully described as follows;
BEGINNING at the Southwest corner of Lot 12, Block 63, Kise Sub-
division of said Roberts and McWhorter Addition;
THENCE North 20 feet;
THENCE West 12 feet;
THENCE South 20 feet to the Southeast corner of Lot 13 of said
Block 63;
THENCE East 12 feet to the POINT OF BEGINNING;
and the alley in Block 62., Norwood Subdivision of the Roberts and McWhor-
ter Addition to the City of Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas, more fully
described as follows:
BEGINNING at the Northwest corner of Lot 1, Block 62, Norwood
Subdivision of said Roberts and Mc Whorter Addition;
THENCE South 600 feet to the Southwest corner of Lot 15 of said
Block 62;
THENCE West 12 feet to the Southeast corner of Lot 16 of said
Block 62;
THENCE North 600 feet to the Northeast corner of Lot 30 of said
Block 62;
THENCE East 12 feet to the POINT OF BEGINNING,
BE and the same are hereby closed, vacated and abandoned for street
and alley purposes and for public use.
SECTION 2. THAT, the City Engineer is hereby authorized and dir-
ected to mark the official map of the City of Lubbock to indicate that the
portions of the street and alleys as described in Section 1 hereof, have
been closed and abandoned, showing the number of this Ordinance and the
date of its final passage.
