WHEREAS.J the proposed change in zoning districts as hereinafter made
has been duly presented to the Zoning and Planning Commission for its recommen
dation, which was received by the City Commission and aft er due consideration_,
the City Commission finds that making the proposed change as hereinafter set out
will be in the public interest; and,
WHEREAS, all conditions precedent required by law for a valid amendment
to the Zoning Ordinance and Map have been fully complied with, as well as giving
notices in compliance with Section 20 of Ordinance No. 1695 as well as notices
provided by Article lOllf_, Vernon's Annotated Civil Statutes, amended in 1953, a
notice was duly published in the Lubbock Morning Avalanche Journal more than
fifteen (15) days prior to the date of the public hearing before the City Commissio
on such proposed amendment_, and the public hearing according to said notice was
duly held in the Assembly Room of the Central Fire Station Building_, located at
503 Avenue Kin Lubbock, Texas, at which tim@ persons appeared in support of
the proposal; and, after said hearing_, it was by the City Commission determined
that it would be in the public interest, due to changed conditions, that the Zoning
Ordinance and the Zoning Map be amended in the manner hereinafter set 'forth in t · e
body of this Ordinance and this Ordinance having been introduced in final written
form prior to first reading hereof; NOW_.' 'FHEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
SECTION 1. THAT Section 1 subparagraph 3 of Ordinance No. 1739 which
reads as follows:

Murryhill Addition to the City of Lubbock, Lubbock County.t Texas,
from an 11R-1 11 to a "C-311 Zoning District·{Between Memphis and
Knoxville Avenues on 50th Street).
BE AMENDED TO READ
11Section 1(3} ZONE CASE No:' 515 -Change the second installment of
Murryhill Addition to the City of Lubbock-1 Lubbock County, Texas_,
from an "R-1" to a 11C-311 Zoning district (Between Memphis and
Knoxville Avenues on 50th Street). SUBJECT TO THE FOLLOWING
CONDITIONS.
1. Uses shall be those which are permitted in the. 11C-311_. General
Retail District_, except for the following:
a. Golf driving range
b. Lumber yard
c. Miniature golf course
2. All future buildings shall be set back a minimum of sixty (60)
feet from any street property line.
3. Off-street parking shall be provided on a gross., over-all ratio
of three (3) square feet for every square foot of building area; such
parking area may .. in adtlition to the actual parking of vehicles., be
used for walks., drives~ landscaping., service areas .. etc.
4. All refuse collection shall be centralized insofar as practical
and service provided by Dumpmaster type system or similar method.
5.. A screening fence at least six (6) feet in height shall be constructed
along the alley property line at the time any building or development
occurs within one-hundred (100) feet of the north property line; such
fence shall extend along the north property line fifty (50) feet beyon~
any building so located or to the extent of any parking or service area
adjacent to such building., whichever is greater.
6. All driveways and curb openings shall conform to the City's Drive-
way Ordinance. (Ordinance 1466)
