HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance - 3683-1961 - Amend Zoning Ordinance 1695; Case No. 960 - 12/28/1961u 1 a-~~-\il.LP. 1 ORDINANCE NO,. 3683 0 J -Jl -I q I D~ AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 1695 AND'-THE OFFICIAL MAP OF THE CITY .OF LUBBOCK SO AS TO MAKE THE FOLLOWING CHANGE: ZONE CASE NO. 960 : CHANGE LOTS 1 AND 2., BLOCK 127-J OVERTON ADDITION TO THE CITY OF LUBBOCK, LUBBOCK COUNTY~ TEXAS FROM AN "R-2" TO AN "R-311 ZONING DISTRICT. (SAID PROPERTY BEING I LOCATED AT THE SOUTHWEST CORNER OF THE INTERSECTION OF 7TH STREET AND A VENUE W). SUBJECT TO CONDITIONS: WHEREAS., the proposed change in zoning districts as hereinafter made ' has been duly presented to the Zoning and Planning Commission for its recommen1 dation, which was received by the City Commission and after due consideration, I the City Commission finds that making the proposed change as hereinafter set out will be in the public interest; and~ WHEREAS~ all conditions precedent required by law for a valid amendment to the Zoning Ordinance and Map have been fully complied with, as well as giving notices in compliance with Section 20 of Ordinance No .. 1695 as well as notices pro vided by Article 1011!;, Vernon's Annotated Civil Statutes, amended in 1953, and notice was duly published in the Lubbock Morning Avalanche Journal more than fifteen {15) days prior to the date of the public hearing before the City Commis- sion on such proposed amendment., and the public hearing according to said notice was duly held in the Assembly Room of the Central Fire Station Building, located at 503 Avenue Kin Lubbock, Texas., at which time persons appeared in support of the proposal; and, after said hearing, it was by the City Commission deter- mined that it would be in the public interestl' due to changed conditions, that the Zoning Ordinance and the Zoning Map be amended in the manner hereinafter set forth in the body of this Ordinance and this Ordinance having been introduced in final written form prior to first reading hereof; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: SECTION 1. THAT Ordinance No. 1695 and the Official Zoning Map BE and the same are hereby amended as follows,. to-wit: ZONE CASE NO. 960 Change Lots 1 and 2, Block 127, Overton Addition to the City of Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas, from an nR-211 to an 11R-311 zoning district. (Said property being located at the Southwest corner of the intersection of 7th Street and A venue W) • Subject to the following conditions: 1. That the development of the property shall be limited to apart- ment development only. 2. That one paved off-street parking space be provided for each living unit of the apartment development. 3. That no parking be placed in the front yard area. 4. That the alley be paved with concrete paving. SECTION 2. THAT from and after passage and effective date of this Ordi- nance, said lots .. tracts and parcels of land described in Section 1 hereof shall be changed to the zoning district indicated and the Official Map is amended in accord- ance herewith.
