AN ORDINANCE RELEASING ALL PROPERTY DSSCRIBED IN PAVING UliTT N0.955 OF
ORDINANCE N0,969 AND THE EAST HALF OF LarS 11 AND 12, BLOOK 21_8, ORIGINAL
TO\VN AND ~ars 1,2 AND 3, BLOO,K 187, ORIGINAL TOt-IN, DESCRIBED IN PAVING UNIT
N0.957 OF ORDINANCE N0.969 FROM ALL LIENS AND .ASSESSMENTS'PROVIJED ~OR IN
SAID ORDINANCE ABMH)ONING THE ·PROPOSED PAVING UPON \VIIICH SAID PROPJRTY ABUTS
AND REAFFIRMING SAID .. ORDINANCE IN ALL OTHER RESPECTS, AND AUTHORIZING THE
MAYOR TO EXECUTE A -REU:ASE OF THE PAVING ASSESSMEllT LIEl'J AS A CLOUD UPON THE
TITLE TO THE AF01lENENTIONED PROPERTY.
WHEREAS, substantially all of the property in Unit No. 955 of Ordinance
N~~ber 969 is homestead and a large number of the owners have refused to
execute Hechanic Liens for paving improvements abutting property described
in said Unit, and the City Commission finds it in the public interest to
abandon said Unit for paving purposes, and no paving has been done on said
Unit,
·AND, WHEREAS1 the East half of lots 11 and 12, Blocka8, OriJinal
Town, and Lots 1,2, and 3, Block 187, Original Town, described in Paving
Unit No. 957 of Ordinance No. 969 are homestead and the owners have refused
to execute Mechanic Liens for paving improvements abutting said property, and
pavlng improvements have been made in Unit 957 with no improvement abutting
the East half of Lots 11 and 12, Block 218, Original Town and Lots 1,2,
and 3, Block 187, Original Town, and the City Commission finds that it is in
the public interest to abandon proposed paving improvements abutting said lots,
THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINFi'...D BY THE C;ITY COl~ITSSION .oF LUBBOCK,TEXAS;
THAT, the property described in Paving Unit No. 955 and the East Half
of Lots 11 and 12 in Block 218, Original To'm and Lots 1,2, and 3 in Block
187, Original Town, described in Paving Unit No. 957 are hereby released from
any and all liens and encumbrances resulting from the proceedings establishing
such claims and liens insofar as such proceedings relating to paving assessment
against the aforementioned property.
This ordinance shall never be const~~ed as modifying, releasing or
othe~t.lse affecting any property except that described in Unit No.955 and the
East half of Lots 11 and 12, Block 218, Original Town, and Lots 1,2 and 3
Block 187, Original Town described in Unit No. 957 of Ordinance No. 969.
The Mayor of the City of Lubbock is hereby authorized to execute a re-
lease covering the property described in Unit No. 955 and the East half of
Lots 12 and 13, Block 218, Original Town and Lots 1,2 and 3, Block 187,
Original Town described in Unit Number 957, so as to clear the same from any
cloud upon the title.
