WHEREAS, the proposed changes in Zoning Districts, as hereinafter made, have been duly presented to the .Zoning and Planning Commission for its recommendation, which recommendation was received by the City Coiillllission and, after due considera- tion the City Commission unanimous~ finds that making the proposed changes as hereinafter set out will be in the public interest, and, \~S, all notices have been given, in compliance with Section Twenty-five (25) of Ordinance No. 661, as well as notices provided b.Y Article 1011f, Revised Civil Statutes, as amended, and notice was duly published on August 9, 10 and 11, 1950, and the public hearing, in accordance to said notice, was held at 2:00 o1clock1 P. M., on August 24, 1950, in the City Commission room on the second floor of the City Hall in Lubbock, Texas; at which time approximately fifty (50) interes- ted persons and property owners appeared generally in support of the_proposal to ., "r- .J u change the zoning of certain defined a:reas in the City of tubbock, and which hear"" ings developed that changed condi tiona existed in said .areas~ :J .• due to improvements recent~ made, both within and without the City Limits, prior to a time a part of the area was included within the corporate limits, and after the completed hearings it was b,y the City Commission determined that the public interest, as well as the interest of substantial~ all property owners and others affected by the proposed change would be best served by amending the Zoning Ordinance and the Official Zoning Mip, THEREFORE: BE rr ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: SECTION 1. THAT, Ordinance No. 661 and the Official Zoning Map be, and the same is, hereby amended as follows, to-wits 1. Change Lots 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, Block 2, and Lots 1, 2, 3, Block 1, Highway Heights Addition, from an "A" District to a "G" District. 2. Change an area beginning at a point which is 1345 feet North and 495 feet West of the SE Corner of Survey 7, Block B; ·thence East 215.71 feet to the place of beginning; thence North 635 feet; thence East 35' more or less to the South line of the F. W. & D. c. Ry. Co. R.O.W; thence Southeasterly along said R.O.W. line 120 feet more or less to the West line of Ash Avenue; thence 2° S 12 1 E. along the West line of Ash Avenue 610 feet more or less to the North line of 3oth Street; thence Vlest 159.3' feet to the place of beginning from "A" District to a "J" District. 3. Change Lots 11, 12, in Block 1, Edwards Addition from an "A" District to · a "C" District. 4. Change the N-1/4 of Block 15, J. c. Davis Subdivision .from an "A11 District to a "G" District. 5. Change Lots 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, Block 38, Easley Subdivision of Roberts & MeV/horter Addition from a 11 C" District to a 11G" District. 6.
