AN OBDINANCE AMENDOO CHAPrER TWO (2), SECTION 203, OF ORDINANCE 10. 58'7;
BEING THE BUilDING CODE OF THE CITY OF LUBOOCK; SAID SECTION RELATilll TO FEES
TO BE CHA:OOED BI THE BUILDING INSPECTOR AM> INCREA.SIJI) CHAllGES FOR NEW BUILDINGS
AND ADDITIONS ON ALL TYPES OF BUILDINGS, PER SQUARE FOOr OF FLOOR SPACE, TO $0.005
AND oPEN SHEDS, CCJrTON WABEHOUSES, LOADING TRUCKS AliD PLA.TFOIUG, TO $0.003 PER

WHEREAS, the Cit,-Commission finds that the charges now made as tees f'or
building pel'llits, as established in Section 203 of Chapter Two (2), of Ordi.DilllCe
No. 587, are inadequate, and that the provisions of Ordinance No. 648, which
attempted to amend Seotion 203, is also inadequate, THEREFOREJ
BE IT ORDAINED BI THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
SEC'riON 1: THAT, Chapter Two (2), Section 203, of' Ordinance No. 587 be, and
the same is hereby' ame:cded to read as followsa
•SEC.203. Arq person desiring a building permit shall,
at the time of tiling an application therefor, as
provided in Sec. 201 of this Code, pq to the Building
Inspector a f'ee as required in this section.
For·a total valuation or tso.oo or less, no tee.
New Buildings and Additions. Minimum Fee $1. 00. All
types ot building, per square foot or floor space,
$0.005. Open sheds, cotton warehouses, loading docks
and platf'~, $0.003 per square toot. Gasoline or
other volatile or inflammable liquids storage plants, $;.oo. Se~ee station storage tanks $1.00 per t~
Alterations. For alterations of old buildings the
fee tor permits shall be one-tenth or one per cent
of the value or such alteration. Minimum fee $1.00.
The City, County, State, or the United States of'
America shall be exempt from the paying of B.r'fY fee
for aUT bo.ilding.
Where work for which a permit is required b)r this
Code is started or proceeded with prior to obtaining
said permit, the tees above specified shall be
doubled, but the p~ent of such double .f'ee shall
not relieve a~ persons from fUlly complying with
the requirements of this Code in the execution of
the work nor from aJ:13' other penalties prescribed
hel'ein.
The Building Inspector shall keep a permanent,
accurate account of all .fees and other monies collected
aDd received under this Code and give the names or the
persona upon whose account the same were paid, the date
and amount thereof, together with the location of' the
buildiDg or premises to which they-relate. 1

SECTION 2: Ordinance No. 648, passed on second reading the 13th day ot Ju:ne 1 •
. ~ 1940, is hereby in all things repealed. ·
