AN ORDINANCE DESIGNATING THAT PORTION OF AVENUE H FROM THE NORTH SIDE OF
30TH STREET TO 4TH STREET FOR NORTHBOUND TRAFFIC AND DESIGNATING THAT PORTION
OF TEXAS AVENUE FROM THE SOUTH SIDE OF 4TH STREET TO THE JUNCTION OF TEXAS
AVENUE AND AVENUE H JUST NORTH OF 30TH STREET; PROVIDING FOR SIGNS TO INDICATE
THAT SAID PORTIONS ARE ONE-WAY; PRESCRIBING A PENALTY AS PROVIDED IN SECTION 1-
5 OF THE CITY CODE; PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION AND PROVIDING FOR A SAVINGS
CLAUSE.

WHEREAS, the City Council finds that it would be in the best interest of
the citizens of the City of Lubbock to make Avenue Hand Texas Avenue one-way
pairs as hereinafter described for the passage of vehicular traffic, NOW
THEREFORE:
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL FOR THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
SECTION 1. THAT Avenue H from the northside of 30th street to 4th
street be designated for one-way northbound vehicular traffic.
SECTION 2. THAT Texas Avenue from the.southside of 4th street to the
junction of Texas Avenue and Avenue H just north of 30th street be designated
for one-way southbound vehicular traffic.
SECTION 3. THAT the Traffic Engineer is hereby authorized and directed
to place or cause the placing of the necessary traffic signs to indicate the
traffic flow as described in Sections 1 and 2 herein.
SECTION 4. THAT violation of any provisions of this Ordinance shall be
deemed a misdemeanor punishable by a fine not to exceed two hundred dollars as
provided in Section 1-5 of the City Code.
SECTION 5. THAT should any paragraph, sentence, clause, phrase or word
of this Ordinance be declared unconstitutional or invalid for any reason, the
remainder of this Ordinance shall not be affected thereby.
SECTION 6. THAT the City Secretary is hereby authorized to cause
publication of the descriptive caption of this Ordinance as an alternative
method provided by law.
AND IT IS SO ORDERED.
