J:lb ORDINANCE NO. 7 383 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 5 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANC ITY OF LUBBOCK, TEXAS, (BEING THE BUILDING CODE) BY AMENDING ECTION 5-2 THEREOF: PROVIDING FOR AN AMENDMENT TO SUB-SEC- ION 4 OF SUB-SECTION (d) OF SECTION 503 OF THE UNIFORM BUILDING ODE PROVIDING FOR OCCUPANCY SEPARATIONS; PROVIDING A SAVING LA USE AND PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION. WHEREAS, the City Council, after receiving the recommendations of the uilding Board of Appeals, has :found that the changes indicated below would e in the best interest of the citizens of the city of Lubbock: NOW THERER-OR E IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: SECTION 1. THAT Section 5-2 of Chapter 5 of the Code of Ordinances, ity of Lubbock (Being the Building Code}, BE and is hereby amended by a- ending Sub-Section 4 of Sub-Section (d} of Section 503 of the Uniform Build- ·ng Code, 1973 Edition, to read as follows: 114. In group I and J Occupancy, the separation will require the garage to be covered with 1/211 gypsum wallboard, wall and ceil- ing. If an attic access is provided, such access shall have a means of insuring access stability from draft, either by weights, springs or a latching device. 11 SECTION 2. THAT should any section, paragraph, sentence, clause. hrase or word of this Ordinance be declared unconstitutional or invalid for y reason, the remainder of this Ordinance shall not be affected thereby. SECTION 3. THAT the City Secretary is hereby authorized to cause pub- ication of the d?scriptive caption of this Ordinance as an alternative method rovided by law.
