AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 7310 OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK, WHICH
ANNEXED PROPERTY ADJACENT TO THE CITY OF LUBBOCK, BY CORRECTING SAID ORDINANCE
TO CORRECTLY REFLECT THE INTENT OF THE CITY COUNCIL; PROVIDING FOR CORRECTION
OF CITY MAP TO INCLUDE THIS ADDITIONAL TERRITORY; PROVIDING A SAVINGS CLAUSE
AND PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION.
WHEREAS, the City Council, after all notices and public hearings had
been held according to law, enacted Ordinance No. 7310, annexing property
adjacent to the City of Lubbock; and,
WHEREAS, such ordinance, as drafted and before the City Council, did not
correctly reflect the intent of the City Council as to the property to be
annexed; NOW THEREFORE:
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
SECTION 1. THAT Ordinance No. 7310 of the City of Lubbock, BE and is
hereby corrected to reflect the intent of the City Council by correcting the
description of the area annexed to the City of Lubbock to read as follows:
BEGINNING at a point in the present City Limits boundary
as described by City of Lubbock Ordinance No. 2536, said
point being 150 feet north and 150 feet west of the south-
east corner of Survey 13, Block A;
THENCE west 6611.25 feet, more or less, along the present
City Limits boundary as established by Ordinance No. 2536
to a point which is 150 feet north and 1481.25 feet west
of the southeast corner of Survey 14, Block A;
THENCE north approximately 992.05 feet to a point which
is 1142.05 feet north and 1481.25 feet west of the south-
east corner of Survey 14, Block A, said point being the
most easterly corner of a tract of land conveyed by deed
recorded in Volume 1315, Page 367 in the Deed Records of
Lubbock County;
THENCE north 330 02' east a distance of 500 feet to a
point in the southwest right-of-way line of U.S. Highway
No. 84;
THENCE north approximately 579.57 feet to a point which is
2140.8 feet north and 1208.69 feet west of the southeast
corner of Survey 14, Block A;
THENCE east 6338.69 feet, more or less, to a point in the
present City Limits boundary which is 150 feet west and
2140.8 feet north of the southeast corner of Survey 13,
Block A;
THENCE south along the present City Limits boundary a
distance of 1990.8 feet more or less, to the POINT OF
BEGINNING.
Containing 297.21 acres, more or less.
SECTION 2. THAT the City Engineer is hereby directed to immediately
correct the map of the City of Lubbock by adding thereto the additional terri
tort' annexed by this ordinance, indicating on the map the date of annexation
and the number of this Ordinance. The City Secretary -Treasurer and the City
Engineer shall each keep in their respective offices an official map of the
City of Lubbock showing the boundaries of the municipal corporation including
this annexation.
SECTION 3. THAT should any section, paragraph, sentence, clause, phrase,'
or word of this Ordinance be declared unconstitutional or invalid for any I
reason, the remainder of this Ordinance shall not be affected thereby.
SECTION 4. THAT the City Secretary shall cause the publication of this
Ordinance once a week for two consecutive weeks in a newspaper regularly pub-
lished in the City of Lubbock.
AND IT IS SO ORDERED.
