AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 7084 AND THE
FFICIAL MAP OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK SO AS TO MAKE THE FOLLOW
NG CHANGE: ZONE CASE NO. 1837-A: CHANGE A TRACT OF LAND OUT 0
ECTION 1, BLOCK J-S, HORIZON WEST ADDITION, CITY OF LUBBOCK,
UBBOCK COUNTY, TEXAS, FROM C-2 AND R-2 TO R-1 ZONING DISTRIC·
ROVIDING A SAVINGS CLAUSE AND PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION.
WHEREAS, the proposed change in zoning districts as hereinafter mad
as been duly presented to the Planning and Zoning Commission for its recom
endation, which was received by the City Council and, after due consideratio ,
he City Council finds that making the proposed change as hereinafter set out
ill be in the public interest; and,
WHEREAS, all conditions precedent required by law for a valid amend
ent to the Zoning Ordinance and Map have been fully complied with, as well
s giving notices in compliance with Section 26 of Ordinance No. 7084 as well
as notices provided by Article lOllf, Vernon's Annotated Civil Statutes. amen -
din 1961, and notice was duly published in the Lubbock Morning Avalanche
Journal more than fifteen (15) days prior to the date of the public hearing be-
ore the City Council on such proposed amendment, and the public hearing ac-
cording to said notice was duly held in the City Council Room on the Second
Floor of the City Hall, Lubbock, Texas, at which time persons appeared in
upport of the proposal; and, after said hearing, it was by the City Council
determined that it would be in the public interest, due to changed conditions,
hat the Zoning Ordinance and the Zoning Map be amended in the manner here-
inafter set fprth in the body of this Ordinance and this Ordinance having been
introduced prior to first reading hereof; NOW THEREFORE:
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
SECTION 1. THAT Ordinance No. 7084 and the Official Zoning Map
BE and the same are hereby amended as follows; to-wit:
ZONE CASE NO. 1837-A
Change a tract of land out of Section 1, Block J-S,
Horizon West Addition, City of Lubbock, Lubbock
County, Texas, from C-2 and R-2 to R-1 Zoning
District. Property is further described by metes
and bounds, to-wit:
TRACT I
BEGINNING at a point which bears South approxi-
mately 770. 0 feet and East approximately 60. 00

feet from the Northwest corner of Section 1. Block
J -S. Lubbock County, Texas;
THENCE East an approximate distance of 600. 0 feet;
THENCE Northeasterly around a curve to the left,
said curve having an approximate distance of 600. 0
feet;
THENCE Southeasterly around a curve to the left.
said curve having an approximate chord distance of
170. 0 feet;
THENCE s45°W an approximate distance of 20. 0
feet;
THENCE West an approximate distance of 790. 00
feet to the PLACE OF BEGINNING, 2. 2 acres.
TRACT II
BEGINNING at a point which bears East approximate-
ly 780, 00 feet and South approximately 50. 00 feet from
the Northwest corner of Section 1, Block J -S;
THENCE South an approximate distance of 450. 00 feet;
THENCE East an approximate distance of 123. 00 feet;
THENCE North an approximate distance of 450. 00 feet;
THENCE West an approximate distance of 123. 00 feet
to the PLACE OF BEGINNING; 1. 3 acres.
TRACT III
BEGINNING at a point which is approximately 525
feet South and approximately 60 feet East of the
Northwest corner of Section 1, Block J-S;
THENCE East an approximate distance of 658 feet;
THENCE South an approximate distance of 75 feet;

THENCE Southwesterly. around a curve to the

SECTION 2. THAT from and after passage and effective date of this
Ordinance said lots, tracts and parcels of land described in Section 1 hereof
shall be changed to the Zoning District indicated and the Official Map is amenc -
ed in accordance herewith.
SECTION 3. THAT should any section, paragraph, sentence, clause,
phrase or word of this Ordinance be declared unconstitutional or invalid for
any reason. the remainder of this Ordinance shall not be affected thereby.
SECTION 4. THAT the City Secretary is hereby authorized to cause
publication of the descriptive caption of this Ordinance as an alternative me-
thod provided by law.
