AN ORDINANCE ABANDONING AND CLOSING A PORTION OF A 20 -
FOOT GARBAGE COLLECTION EASEMENT LOCATED IN SECTION 8, BLOCK
E-2, LUBBOCK COUNTY, TEXAS, AND MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED IN
THE BODY OF THIS ORDINANCE; DIRECTING THE CITY ENGINEER TO MARK
THE OFFICIAL MAPS OF THE CITY TO REFLECT SAID ABANDONMENT AND
CLOSING; PROVIDING A SAVINGS CLAUSE; AND PROVIDING FOR
PUBLICATION.
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the easement hereinafter described in the
body of this Ordinance is no longer needed for easement purposes and for public use; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds it would be in the public interest to close,
vacate and abandon the same for easement purposes and for public use; NOW
THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
j SECTION 1. THAT the easement as hereinafter described shall BE and the same I is hereby closed, vacated and abandoned for easement purposes and for public use, such

METES AND BOUNDS DESCRIPTION for a 3,240 square foot portion of a 20-
foot garbage collection easement proposed to be closed located in Section 8,
Block E-2, Lubbock County, Texas, being further described as follows:
BEGINNING at a W' iron rod with cap set at the Northwest comer of Lot 11,
Drury Park, an addition to the City of Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas,
according to the map, plat and/or dedication deed thereof recorded in Volume
742, Page 213, Deed Records of Lubbock County, Texas, same being a point in
the South line of a 20 foot alley, which bears East, 660.00 feet and South, 226.00
feet from the Northwest comer of Section 8, Block E-2;
THENCE S. 00° 01 '43" E, along the West line of said Lot 11, Drury Park, at
112.00 feet pass the Southwest comer of said Lot 11, Drury Park, same being a
point in the North right-of-way line of 51st Street, continuing for a total distance
of 162.00 feet to a point in the South right-of-way line of 51st Street at the
Northwest comer of Lot 30, said Drury Park;
THENCE West a distance of20.00 feet to a point;
THENCE N. 00°01 '43" W. a distance of 162.00 feet to a Yz" iron rod with cap set;
THENCE East a distance of 20.00 feet to the POINT OF BEGINNING.

SECTION 2. THAT the City Engineer is hereby authorized and directed to mark
the official maps of the City of Lubbock to reflect said abandonment and closing,
showing the number of this Ordinance and the date of its final passage.
SECTION 3. THAT should any section, paragraph, sentence, phrase, clause or
word of this Ordinance be declared unconstitutional or invalid for any reason, the
remainder of this ordinance shall not be affected thereby.
SECTION 4. THAT the City Secretary of the City of Lubbock is hereby
authorized and directed to cause publication of the descriptive caption of this Ordinance
as an alternative method provided by law.
