AN ORDINANCE ABANDONING AND CLOSING A PORTION OF A 20
FOOT ALLEY LOCATED IN OR ADJACENT TO LOT B SECURITY PARK
DEVELOPMENT ADDITION AND LOT 2 FIVE POINT ADDITION TO THE CITY
OF LUBBOCK, LUBBOCK COUNTY, TEXAS, AND MORE PARTICULARLY
DESCRIBED IN THE BODY OF THIS ORDINANCE; DIRECTING THE CITY
ENGINEER TO MARK THE OFFICIAL MAPS OF THE CITY TO REFLECT SAID
ABANDONMENT AND CLOSING; PROVIDING A SAVINGS CLAUSE; AND
PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION.
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the alley portion as hereinafter described
in the body of this Ordinance is no longer needed for public use and it would be in the
public interest to close, vacate and abandon the same for alley purpose and for public use
and it would be in the public interest to close, vacate and abandon the same for alley
purposes and public use; NOW THEREFORE:
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
SECTION 1. THAT the alley portion as hereinafter described shall BE and the
same is hereby closed, vacated and abandoned for alley purposes and for public use, such
alley being more particularly described in the following Exhibit "A".
SECTION 2. THAT the City Engineer is hereby authorized and directed to mark
the official maps of the City of Lubbock to reflect said abandonment and closing,
showing the number of this Ordinance and the date of its final passage.
SECTION 3. THAT should any section, paragraph, sentence, phrase, clause or
word of this Ordinance be declared unconstitutional or invalid for any reason, the
remainder of this ordinance shall not be affected thereby.
SECTION 4. THAT the City Secretary of the City of Lubbock is hereby
authorized and directed to cause publication of the descriptive caption of this Ordinance
as an alternative method provided by law.

to be closed located in Section 6, Block E-2, Lubbock County, Texas, being further described as follows:
BEGINNING at a railroad spike found in the West right-of-way line of Slide Road at the most Easterly Southeast
corner of Lot B, Security Park Development, an addition lo the City of Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas,
according to the map, plat and/or dedication deed thereof recorded in Volume 1528, Page 456, Deed Records
of Lubbock County, Texas, which bears West, 74.00 feet and South, 904.31 feet from the Northeast comer of
Section 6, Block E-2, Lubbock County, Texas;
THENCE South, along the West right-of-way line of Slide Road, a distance of 22.06 feet to a pk nail with cap
found in the North line of Lot 2, Five Point Addition to the City of Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas, according to
the map, plat and/or dedication deed thereof recorded in Volume 1141, Page 277, Deed Records of Lubbock
County, Texas;
THENCE S. 65°04' W., along the North line of said Lot 2, Five Point Addition, a distance of 216.14 feet to a ½"
iron rod with cap found at the Northwest comer of said lot 2, Five Point Addition;
THENCE South, along the West line of said Lot 2, Five Point Addition, a distance of 14.01 feet to a ½" iron rod
with cap set;
THENCE West a distance of 20.00 feet to a½" iron rod with cap set in the Easternmost line of Lot C, Security
Park Development. an addition lo the City of Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas, according to the map, plat
and/or dedication deed thereof recorded in Volume 1811, Page 149, Deed Records oflubbock County, Texas;
THENCE North, along the Easternmost line of said Loi C, Security Park Development, a distance of 26. 77 feet
to a ½" iron rod found in the Southern limits of said Lot B, Security Park Development;
THENCE N. 65°04' E., along the Southern limits of said Lot B, Security Park Development, a distance of 238.21
feet lo the Point of Beginning.
