HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance - 2012-O0117 - Amending FY 2012-13 Budget; General Fund By Adding 3 Potitions; Amending Payroll - 09/27/2012First Reading September 27, 2012 Item No, 6,10 ORDINANCE NO.2012-oou7 Second Reading October 11, 2012 Item No. 6.3 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE FY 2012-13 BUDGET FOR MUNICIPAL PURPOSES RESPECTING THE GENERAL FUND BY ADDING THREE POSITIONS TO POSITION CONTROL, APPROPRIATING ADDITIONAL SALES TAX REVENUE, AND AMENDING THE PAYROLL AND BENEFITS IN INTERNAL AUDIT AND CITY COUNCIL OFFICE; PROVIDING FOR FILJNG; AND PROVIDING FOR A SAVINGS CLAUSE. WHEREAS, Section 102.010 of the Local Government Code of the State of Texas authorizes the City Council to make changes in the budget for municipal purposes; and WHEREAS, in accordance with the City Budget Ordinance the City Council shall approve all transfers between funds and departments; and WHEREAS, the City Council deems it advisable to change the FY 2012-13 Budget for municipal purposes and reallocate funds as follows; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAI~ED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: SECTION 1. IHA T the City Council of the City of Lubbock hereby approves changes to the City of Lubbock Budget FY 2012-13 (Budget Amendment #2) for municipul purposes, as follows: l. Amend Position Control by adding three pos1t1ons, two Senior Auditor positions to Internal Audit -Cost Center J 111, and one Executive Assistant to the City Council position to City Council Office -Cost Center 1111. II. Amend expenditures in General Fund in Cost Center 3111, Internal Audit by increasing salary by $86,852 and benefits by $43,236 for a total of $130,088 for the two Senior Auditor positions, and amend expenditures in Cost Center 1111, City Council Office, by increasing salaries by $33,507 and benefits by $18,927 for a total of $52,434 for the Executive to the City Council. III. Amend the Sales Tax budgeted revenues in General Fund by inc reasing the revenue forecast by $182,522, from $52,577,969 to $52,760,491. SECTION 2. THAT a copy of the changes made to the City of Lubbock Budget pursuant to this Ordinance shall be filed with the City Secretary and County Clerk of Lubbock as required by law. SECTION 3. THAT should any section, paragraph, sentence, clause, phrase or word of this Ordinance be declared unconstitutional or invalid for any reason, the remainder of this Ordinance shall not be affected thereby.
