HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance - 2009-O0096 - Amending FY 2009-10 Budget For Municipal Budget: Safety City Streeet Smart Kids - 10/08/2009First Reading October 8:p 2009 Item No. 5.2 ORDINANCE NO. 2009-o0096 Second Reading October 20, 2009 Item No. 5.1 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE FY 2009-10 BUDGET FOR MUNICIPAL PURPOSES RESPECTING THE GRANT FUND TO ACCEPT AND APPROPRIATE FUNDING FROM THE SOUTH PLAINS ASSOCIATION OF GOVERNMENTS FOR THE AREA AGENCY ON AGING -DIRECT PURCHASE OF SERVICES GRANT; ACCEPT AND APPROPRIATE FROM THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION FOR SAFETY CITY - "TEACHING KIDS TO BE STREET SMART" GRANT, ACCEPT AND APPROPRIATE FROM THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF STATE HEALTH SERVICES FOR THE PUBLIC HEALTH EMERGENCY RESPONSE PHASE III GRANT, ACCEPT AND APPROPRIATE FROM THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND COMMUNITY AFFAIRS FOR THE COMPREHENSIVE ENERGY ASSISTANCE PROGRAM; RESPECTING THE DONATIONS FUND TO ACCEPT AND APPROPRlA TE FUNDING FROM ATMOS ENERGY FOR THE WEATHERIZATION PROGRAM; AND RESPECTING THE GENERAL FUND BY RECLASSIFYING TWO POLICE OFFICER POSITIONS TO SERGEANT POSITIONS. WHEREAS, Section 102.010 of the Local Government Code of the State of Texas authorizes the City Council to make changes in the budget for municipal purposes; and WHEREAS, in accordance with the City Budget Ordinance the City Council shall approve all transfers between funds and departments; and WHEREAS, the City Council deems it advisable to change the FY 2009-10 Budget for municipal purposes and reallocate funds as follows; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: SECTION 1. THAT the City Council of the City of Lubbock hereby approves changes to the City of Lubbock Budget FY 2009-10 (Budget Amendment #2) for municipal purposes, as follows: I. Accept and appropriate $181 ,614 from the South Plains Association of Goverrunents for the Area Agency on Aging -Direct Purchase of Services Grant and appropriate $80,730 of anticipated program revenues, for a $262,344 grant program budget, with estimated revenues budgeted accordingly. II. Accept and appropriate $34,724 from the Texas Department of Transportation for Safety City -"Teaching Kids to Be Street Smart". III. Accept and appropriate $387,680 from the Texas Department of State Health Services for the Public Health Emergency Response Phase III Grant. IV. Accept and appropriate $53,569 from Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs for the Comprehensive Energy Assistance Program (CEAP). V. Accept and appropriate $100,000 donation from Atmos Energy for the Weatherization Program. VI. Amend the General Fund by reclassifying two Police Officer positions to Sergeant Positions. SECTION 2. THAT a copy of the changes made to the City of Lubbock Budget pursuant to this Ordinance shall be filed with the City Secretary and County Clerk of Lubbock as required by law. SECTION 3. THAT should any section, paragraph, sentence, clause, phrase or word of this Ordinance be declared unconstitutional or invalid for any reason, the remainder of this Ordinance shall not be affected thereby.
