AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE FY 2005-06 BUDGET FOR MUNICIPAL
PURPOSES RESPECTING THE 1) GENERAL FUND AND 2) GRANT FUND.
(AMENDMENT #6)
WHEREAS, Section 102.010 of the Local Government Code of the State of
Texas authorizes the City Council to make changes in the budget for municipal purposes;
and
WHEREAS, in accordance with the City Budget Ordinance the City Council shall
approve all transfers between funds and departments; and
WHEREAS, the City Council deems it advisable to change the FY 2005-06
Budget for municipal purposes and reallocate funds as follows; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
SECTION 1. THAT the City Council of the City of Lubbock hereby approves
changes to the City of Lubbock Budget FY 2005-06 (Budget Amendment #6) for
municipal purposes, as follows:
1. Accept and appropriate a $207,900 grant from the United States Office for
Domestic Preparedness to procure computer front-line equipment and supplies
for the Fire Department. The required matching funds in the amount of
$62,370 will come from General Fund balance.
2. Add $25,000 from General Fund balance to purchase land for a future Fire
Station. Funding will be added to the Fire Division budget in the General
Fund for this purchase.
3. Add $60,000 from General Fund balance to purchase AED replacements.
Funding will be added to the Fire Division budget in the General fund for this
purchase.
4. Add $300,000 from the unspent funds from the 1999 bond election from the
General Fund for the completion of the MLK Little League Parks.
5. Appropriate $177,000 of 2003 General Obligation Bonds to Capital
Improvement Project #90408 -"Wagner Park in Tech Terrace" and that
$177,000 be returned to General Fund balance.
6. Establish a new Capital Improvement Project for Improvements to the
Northwest Little League Complex and to appropriate $100,000 of 2003
General Obligation Bonds to said Capital Improvement Project.
7. Establish a new Capital Project for the acquisition and renovations of the
Guadalupe/Parkway Neighborhood Center, and to appropriate $340,000 of
2003 General Obligation Bonds to said Capital Improvement Project with
$140,000 for the purchase of the Catholic Family Services building, and
$200,000 allocated for renovations to the facility.
8. Appropriate $200,000 of 2003 General Obligation Bonds to Capital
Improvement Project #9145 -"Mackenzie Park Amphitheater" for the
addition of restrooms.
9. Appropriate $30,003 of 2003 General Obligation Bonds to other park Capital
Improvement Projects as determined by the City of Lubbock, with advisory
assistance of the Parks and Recreation Board.
SECTION 2. THAT a copy of the changes made to the City of Lubbock Budget
pursuant to this Ordinance shall be filed with the City Secretary and County Clerk of
Lubbock as required by law.
