AN ORDINANCE ABANDONING AND CLOSING A 50-FOOT ACCESS
EASEMENT AND A 20-FOOT UTILITY AND GARBAGE COLLECTION
EASMENT LOCATED IN' SECTION 8, BLOCK B, ADJACENT TO LOT 2-B,
ALAMO PLAZA ADDITION, LUBBOCK COUNTY, TEXAS, AND MORE
PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED IN THE BODY OF THIS ORDIN'ANCE;
DIRECTING THE CITY ENGINEER TO MARK THE OFFICIAL MAPS OF THE
CITY TO REFLECT SAID ABANDONMENT AND CLOSING; PROVIDING A
SAVINGS CLAUSE; AND PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION.
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the easements hereinafter described in the
body of this Ordinance are no longer needed for easement purposes and for public use;
and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds it would be in the public interest to close,
vacate and abandon the same for easement purposes and for public use; NOW
THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
SECTION 1. THAT the easements as hereinafter described shall BE and the
same are hereby closed, vacated and abandoned for easement purposes and for public
use, such easements are being more particularly described in the attached exhibit "A" &
"B".
SECTION 2. THAT the City Engineer is hereby authorized and directed to mark
the official maps of the City of Lubbock to reflect said abandonment and closing,
showing the number of this Ordinance and the date of its final passage.
SECTION 3. THAT should any section, paragraph, sentence, phrase, clause or
word of this Ordinance be declared unconstitutional or invalid for any reason, the
remainder of this ordinance shall not be affected thereby.

SECTION 4. THAT the City Secretary of the City of Lubbock is hereby
authorized and directed to cause publication of the descriptive caption of this Ordinance
as an alternative method provided by law.

METES AND BOUNDS DESCRIPTION for a 0.316 acre tract of land located in Section 8, Block B, Lubbock
County, Texas, being further described as follows:
BEGINNING at the Northeast comer of Lot26, Alamo Plaza Addition and in the South line of a 20.00 foot Utility
and Garbage Collection Easement as shown on the Final Plat of Lots 1-33, Alamo Plaza Addition to the City of
Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas, according to the map, plat, and/or dedication deed thereof recorded in
Volume 814, Page 585, Deed Records of Lubbock County, Texas, for the Northwest comer of this tract, which
bears East a distance of 2060.00 feet and North a distance of 335.00 feet from the Southwest comer of Section
8, Block B, Lubbock County, Texas. from whence a ~· iron rod found at the most Northerly Northwest comer of
said lot 26 bears West a distance of 70.00 feet;
THENCE East, along the South line of said 20.00 foot Utility and Garbage Collection Easement, a distance of
50.00 feet to a point for the Northeast comer of this tract;
THENCE South a distance of 275.00 feet to a point in the South fine of Lot 2-B, Alamo Plaza Addition to the City
of lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas, according to the map, plat, and/or dedication deed thereof recorded in
Volume 1788, Page 381, Deed Records of Lubbock County, Texas, and in the North right·of-way line of 50th
Street for the Southeast corner of this tract;
THENCE West, along the South line of said Lot 2-B and the North right-of-way line of sott~ Street, a distance of
50.00 feet to the most Southerly Southwest corner of said Lot 2-B and the Southeast comer of Lot 2-A, said
Alamo Plaza Addition recorded in Volume 1788, Page 381, for the Southwest comer of this tract from whence
an "X" cut in concrete found at the Southwest comer of said lot 2·A bears West a distance of 80.00 feet;

the City of Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas, according to the map, plat, and/or dedication deed thereof
recorded in Volume 814, Page 585, Deed Records of Lubbock County, Texas, tn the East line of a 20.00 foot
