HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance - 2008-O0090 - Amending FY 2008-09 Budget Respecting Grant Fund And Central Business District.. - 10/23/2008First Reading October 23, 2008 Item No. 5.1 ORDINANCE NO. 2008-Q0090 Second Reading November 6, 2008 Item No. 5.1 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE FY 2008-09 BUDGET FOR MUNICIPAL PURPOSES RESPECTING THE (1) GRANT FUND AND (2) CENTRAL BUSINESS f iSTRICT TAX INCREMENT FINANCE SPECIAL REVENUE FUND. 1 1 WHEREAS, Section 102.010 of the Local Government Code of the State of JTexas authorizes the City Council to make changes in the budget for municipal purposes; and WHEREAS, in accordance with the City Budget Ordinance the City Council shall approve all transfers between funds and departments; and WHEREAS, the City Council deems it advisable to change the FY 2008-09 Budget for municipal purposes and reallocate funds as follows; NOW, THEREFORE, E IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: SECTION 1. THAT the City Council of the City of Lubbock hereby approves hanges to the City of Lubbock Budget FY 2008-09 (Budget Amendment # 1) for unicipal purposes, as follows: 1. Accept and appropriate $29,672 from the Texas Department of Transportation for the Traffic Safety Program, Teaching Kids to be Street Smart. 2. Accept and appropriate $79,611 from the United States Department of Justice for the 2008 Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant Program. 3. Appropriate $45,000 of the Central Business District Tax Increment Finance Special Revenue Fund balance for the relocation of a fiber optic line. 4. Accept and appropriate $28,220 from the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs for the Comprehensive Energy Assistance Program. SECTION 2. THAT a copy of the changes made to the City of Lubbock Budget ursuant to this Ordinance shall be filed with the City Secretary and County Clerk of ubbock as required by law. SECTION 3. THAT should any section, paragraph, sentence, clause, phrase or ord of this Ordinance be declared unconstitutional or invalid for any reason, the remainder of this Ordinance shall not be affected thereby.
