AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE FY 2007-08 BUDGET FOR MUNICIPAL
PURPOSES RESPECTING THE (1) GRANT FUND; (2) GENERAL FUND; AND (3)
ESTABLISHING CIVIL SERVICE CLASSIFICATIONS AND POSITIONS.
WHEREAS, Section 102.010 of the Local Goverrunent Code of the State of
Texas authorizes the City Council to make changes in the budget for municipal purposes;
and
WHEREAS, in accordance with the City Budget Ordinance the City Council shall
approve all transfers between funds and departments; and
WHEREAS, the City Council deems it advisable to change the FY 2007-08
Budget for municipal purposes and reallocate funds as follows; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
SECTION 1. THAT the City Council of the City of Lubbock hereby approves
changes to the City of Lubbock Budget FY 2007-08 (Budget Amendment #5) for
municipal pwposes, as follows:
1. Accept and appropriate $364,445 from the Texas Department of Housing and
Community Affairs for the Community Services Block Grant (CSBG).
2. Accept and appropriate $390,302 from the Texas Department of Housing and
Community Affairs for the Comprehensive Energy Assistance Program
(CEAP), an energy assistance program.
SECTION 2. THAT in accordance with Section 7-34 of the Code of Ordinances
of the City of Lubbock, the civil service classifications and positions established by
Ordinance No. 2007-00091 set forth in the 2007-08 fiscal year budget (the "Budget
Ordinance"), as concerns, and only concerns, the City of Lubbock Police Department
civil service classifications and positions, are hereby amended, as attached hereto as
Attachment "A". The City of Lubbock Fire Department civil service classifications and
, positions FY 2007-08 shall remain as provided in the Budget Ordinance No. 2007-
00091, and shall not be affected hereby.
SECTION 3. THAT a copy of the changes made to the City of Lubbock Budget
pursuant to this Ordinance shall be filed with the City Secretary and County Clerk of
Lubbock as required by law.
SECTION 4. THAT should any section, paragraph, sentence, clause, phrase or
word of this Ordinance be declared unconstitutional or invalid for any reason, the
remainder of this Ordinance shall be affected thereby.
