HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance - 2008-O0001 - Amending The FY 2007-08 Budget - 01/10/2008First Reading January 10, 2008 Item No. 5.1 ORDINANCE NO. 2008-ooOOI Second Reading January 24, 2008 Item No. 4.5 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE FY 2007-08 BUDGET FOR MUNICIPAL PURPOSES RESPECTING THE (1) GRANT FUND; (2) CENTRAL BUSINESS DISTRICT TAX INCREMENT FINANCE FUND; AND (3) GENERAL FUND. WHEREAS, Section 102.010 of the Local Government Code of the State of Texas authorizes the City Council to make changes in the budget for municipal purposes; and WHEREAS, in accordance with the City Budget Ordinance the City Council shall approve all transfers between funds and departments; and WHEREAS, the City Council deems it advisable to change the FY 2007-08 Budget for municipal purposes and reallocate funds as follows; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: SECTION 1. THAT the City Council of the City of Lubbock hereby approves changes to the City of Lubbock Budget FY 2007-08 (Budget Amendment #3) for municipal purposes, as follows: 1. Accept and appropriate $49,298 from Lubbock Emergency Communications District for the Emergency Communication System. 2. Accept and appropriate $247,703 from the United States Department of Justice's 2007 Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant for the Lubbock County Joint Enforcement Initiative Program. 3. Accept and appropriate $6,993 of additional funding from the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs for the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program. 4. Accept and appropriate $15,325 of additional funding from the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs for the Department of Energy Weatherization Assistance Program. 5. Accept and appropriate $150,872 of additional funding from the Texas Department of State Health Services for CPS -Bioterrorism Preparedness. 6. Accept and appropriate $125,000 of additional funding from the Texas Department of State Health Services for CPS -Bioterrorism Preparedness- LAB. 7. Appropriate and transfer $50,000 from the Central Business District Tax Increment Finance Fund balance to LP&L Fund for relocation of power lines. SECTION 2. THAT a copy of the changes made to the City of Lubbock Budget pursuant to this Ordinance shall be filed with the City Secretary and County Clerk of Lubbock as required by law. SECTION 3. THAT should any section, paragraph, sentence, clause, phrase or word of this Ordinance be declared unconstitutional or invalid for any reason, the remainder of this Ordinance shall not be affected thereby.
