ORDINANCE NO. 2007-00118
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 7084 AND THE
OFFICIAL MAP OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK MAKING THE FOLLOWING
CHANGES: ZONE CASE NO. 1943-C; A ZONING CHANGE FROM A-2 AND R-1
TO A-2 ZONING ON THIRTY (30) ACRES OF UNPLAT':{ED LAND OUT OF
BLOCK A, SECTION 18, LUBBOCK, TEXAS; PR~VIDING A PENALTY;
PROVIDING A SAVINGS CLAUSE; AND PROVIDIN/0R PUBLICATION.
WHEREAS, the proposed changes in zoning as/hereinafter made have been duly /
presented to the Planning and Zoning Commissio3/for its recommendation which was
received by the City Council and, after due consideration, the City Council found that due
to changed conditions, it would be expedient arid in the interest of the public health,
safety and general welfare to make those propo/ed changes in zoning; and
WHEREAS, all conditions preced t required by law for a valid amendment to
the Zoning Ordinance and Map have be fully complied with, including giving notices
in compliance with Section 29-29 of e Code of Ordinances, City of Lubbock, Texas,
and the notices provided by the Tex ocal Government Code §211.007 (Vernon, 1990),
and notice was duly published int Lubbock Avalanche-Journal more than fifteen (15)
days prior to the date of the pub c hearing before the City Council on such proposed
amendment, and the public he · g according to said notice, was held in the City Council
Chamber of the Municipal Bu· lling, Lubbock, Texas, at which time persons appeared in
support of the proposal; and er said hearing, it was by the City Council detennined that
it would be in the public in rest, due to changed conditions, that the Zoning Ordinance
and the Zoning Map be ended in the manner hereinafter set forth in the body of this
Ordinance and this Ordin ce having been introduced prior to first reading hereof; NOW
THEREFORE:
BE IT ORDAINED THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
ZONE CASE NO. 1943-C
THAT Ordinance No. 7084 and the Official Zoning Map are
ge of zoning under the provisions of Section 29-29 of the Code of
ces of the City of Lubbock from A-2 and R-1 to A-2 zoning district on
thi (30) acres of unplatted land out of Block A, Section 18, City of
Lub ock, Lubbock County, Texas, located at 3802 Erskine Street, being further
des ribed as follows:

CTION 2. THAT violation of any provision of this Ordinance shall be deemed
a misdemeanor punishable by fine not to exceed Two Thousand and No/100 Dollars
($2,000.00) as provided in Section 29-31 of the Zoning Ordinan/or the City of
Lubbock. 7 -.

SECTION 3. THAT should any paragraph, sentence, clause, phrase or word of
this Ordinance be declared unconstitutional or invalid fof any reason, the remainder of
this Ordinance shall not be affected thereby. / /

Lubbock County, Texas, being further described as follows:
BEGINNING at a point in the South line of Section 18, which bears West, 2749.6 feet from the Southeast corner of
Section 18, for the Southeast corner of this tract;
THENCE WEST, along the South line of Section 18, an approximate distance of 873.0 feet to a point for the
Southwest corner of this tract;
THENCE NORTH, an approximate distance of 1163.2 feet to the Northwest corner of this tract;
