HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance - 2007-O0113 - Amending The FY2007-08 Budget - 11/08/2007First Reading November 8, 2007 ft.em No. 5.5 ORDINANCE NO. 2007-00113 Second Reading November 20, 2007 Item No. 5.2 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE FY 2007-08 BUDGET FOR MUNICIPAL PURPOSES RESPECTING THE (1) GRANT FUND AND (2) CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM. WHEREAS, Section 102.010 of the Local Government Code of the State of Texas authorizes the City Council to make changes in the budget for municipal pmposes; and WHEREAS, in accordance with the City Budget Ordinance the City Council shall approve all transfers between funds and departments; and WHEREAS, the City Council deems it advisable to change the FY 2007-08 Budget for municipal pmposes and reallocate funds as follows; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: SECTION 1. THAT the City Council of the City of Lubbock hereby approves changes to the City of Lubbock Budget FY 2007-08 (Budget Amendment #2} for municipal purposes, as follows: 1. Accept and appropriate $41,408 grant from Texas Department of Transportation for the Traffic Safety Program. 2. Accept and appropriate $37,888 grant from the Texas State Library and Archives Commission for the Loan Star Libraries Program. 3. Accept and appropriate $501,145 grant from the Governor's Division of Emergency Management for the Homeland Security Grant Program. 4. Amend Capital Improvement Project #91181 ''New Fire Station #16" by transferring $1,948,254 of FY 2007 Certificate of Obligation Bonds to Capital Improvement Project #91182 "New Fire Station #17" and renaming project to "Fire Station #17 -63rd & Indiana". 5. Amend Capital Improvement Project #91214 ''New Fire Station #18" by renaming the project to "Fire Station #18 -6ih & Oakridge. 6. Accept and appropriate $43,830 grant from Lubbock Emergency Communications Grant for the Emergency Communications System. SECTION 2. THAT a copy of the changes made to the City of Lubbock Budget pursuant to this Ordinance shall be filed with the City Secretary and County Clerk of Lubbock as required by law. SECTION 3. THAT should any section, paragraph, sentence, clause, phrase or word of this Ordinance be declared unconstitutional or invalid for any reason, the remainder of this Ordinance shall not be affected thereby.
