AN ORDINANCE ABANDONING AND CLOSING PORTIONS OF NORTH
BRENTWOOD A VENUE AND FIRST STREET IN SECTION 1, BLOCK J-S,
LUBBOCK COUNTY, TEXAS, AND MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED IN THE
BODY OF THIS ORDINANCE; DIRECTING THE CITY ENGINEER TO MARK THE
OFFICIAL MAPS OF THE CITY TO REFLECT SAID ABANDONMENT AND
CLOSING; PROVIDING A SAVINGS CLAUSE; AND PROVIDING FOR
PUBLICA TON.
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the street portions as hereinafter
described in the body of this Ordinance are no longer needed for street purposes and for
public use: and it would be in the public interest to close, vacate and abandon the same
for street purposes and for public use; and it would be in the public interest to close.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
SECTION 1. THAT the street portions hereinafter described shaH BE and the
same are hereby closed, vacated and abandoned for street purposes and for public use,
such street portions being more particularly described in Exhibits A & B.
SECTION 2. THAT the City Engineer is hereby authorized and directed to mark
the official maps of the City of Lubbock to reflect said abandolli]J-ent and closing,
showing the number of this Ordinance and the date of its final passage.
SECTION 3. THAT should any section, paragraph, sentence, phrase, clause or
word of this Ordinance be declared unconstitutional or invalid for any reason, the
remainder of this Ordinance shall not be affected thereby.
SECTION 4. THAT the City Secretary of the City of Lubbock is hereby
authorized and directed to cause publication of the descriptive caption of this Ordinance
as an alternative method provided by law.
AND IT IS SO ORDERED.

closed located in Section 1, Block J-S, Lubbock County, Texas being further described as follows:
BEGINNING at a H2" iron rod with cap set in the West right-of-way line of North Brentwood Avenue, which bears
N. 88°06'50" W., a distance of 1934.91 feet, and S. 01°51'42n W., a distance of 2745.33 feet from the Northeast
corner of Section 1, Block J-S, Lubbock County, Texas;
THENCE S. 88°08'18" E., a distance of 60.00 feet to a 1/2" iron rod with cap set in the East right-of-way line of
said North Brentwood Avenue;
THENCE S. 01 °51'42" W., along the East right-of-way line of said North Brentwood Avenue, a distance of 507.07
feet to a pk nail set in the South right-of-way line of 1st Street;
