HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance - 2007-O0093 - Amending FY 2006-07 Fund For Municipal Purposes - 09/13/2007First Reading September 13, 2007 Item No. 5.1 ORDINANCE NO. 2001-00093 Second Reading September 27, 2007 Item Ho. 5.1 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE FY 2006-07 BUDGET FOR MUN1CIP AL PURPOSES RESPECTING THE (1) GRANT FUND, (2) GENERAL FUND, (3) CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM, AND (4) HOTEL OCCUPANCY TAX FUND. WHEREAS, Section 102.010 of the Local Government Code of the State of Texas authorizes the City Council to make changes in the budget for municipal purposes; and WHEREAS, in accordance with the City Budget Ordinance the City Council shall approve all transfers between funds and departments; and WHEREAS, the City Council deems it advisable to change the FY 2006-07 Budget for municipal purposes and reallocate funds as follows; NOW, THEREFORE, E IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: SECTION 1. THAT the City Council of the City of Lubbock hereby approves hanges to the City of Lubbock Budget FY 2006-07 (Budget Amendment # 18) for unicipal purposes, as follows: 1. Accept and appropriate $198,485 grant from Texas Department of State Health Services for Immunizations. 2. Authorize one additional full-time equivalent position in the Library as part of the Library System Operation Grant for the West Texas Library System. 3. Amend Capital Improvement Project #8528, entitled "Texas Tech Signals", by appropriating $43,282 to be reimbursed by Texas Tech University. 4. Amend Capital Improvement Project #91213, entitled "Second Cemetery Entrance", by transferring $250,000 to Capital Improvement Project #92071, entitled "Cemetery Business Office Building." 5. Appropriate $60,000 to Visit Lubbock from the Hotel Occupancy Tax Fund Balance for Depot District development. 6. Accept and appropriate $9,509 grant from the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs for the Comprehensive Energy Assistance Program. 7. Accept and appropriate a $129,599 South Plains Association of Governments pass-through grant from the Texas Department on Aging and Disability Services and appropriate $73,004 of anticipated program revenues, for a total grant program budget of $202,603 with estimated revenues increased accordingly. SECTION 2. THAT a copy of the changes made to the City of Lubbock Budget pursuant to this Ordinance shall be filed with the City Secretary and County Clerk of Lubbock as required by law. SECTION 3. THAT should any section, paragraph, sentence, clause, phrase or word of this Ordinance be declared unconstitutional or invalid for any reason, the remainder of this Ordinance shall not be affected thereby.
