HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance - 2010-O0057 - Amending The FY 2009-10 Budget For Municipal Purposes - 07/22/2010First Reading July 22, 2010 Item No. 5.2 ORDINANCE NO. 2010-00057 Second Reading August 12, 2010 Item No. 5.1 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE FY 2009-10 BUDGET FOR MUNICIPAL PURPOSES RESPECTING THE GRANT PROGRAM TO ACCEPT AND APPROPRIATE FROM THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF STATE HEALTH SERVICES FOR THE HOSPITAL PREPAREDNESS GRANT; ACCEPT AND APPROPRIATE FUNDING FROM THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF STATE HEALTH SERVICES FOR THE SYPHILIS ELIMINATION TEXAS GRANT; ACCEPT AND APPROPRIATE FUNDING FROM THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF STA TE HEALTH SERVICES FOR THE COMMUNITY PREPAREDNESS SECTION-BIOTERRORISM PREPAREDNESS-LAB GRANT; AND RESPECTING THE OPERATING BUDGET BY AMENDING THE ADOPTED FY 2009-10 OPERA TING BUDGET FOR MARKET LUBBOCK, INC; AMENDING THE ADOPTED 2009-10 OPERATING BUDGET FOR THE LUBBOCK ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT ALLIANCE; RESPECTING THE CAPITAL PROGRAM BY AMENDING CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECT 90281, MAJOR SEWER LINE REPLACEMENT; AND AMENDING CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECT 92223, ANIMAL SHELTER WASTEWATER EXTENSIONS. WHEREAS, Section 102.010 of the Local Government Code of the State of Texas authorizes the City Council to make changes in the budget for municipal purposes; and WHEREAS, in accordance with the City Budget Ordinance the City Council shall approve all transfers between funds and departments; and WHEREAS, the City Council deems it advisable to change the FY 2009-10 Budget for municipal purposes and reallocate funds as follows; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: SECTION 1. THAT the City Council of the City of Lubbock hereby approves changes to the FY 2009-10 Adopted Budget (Budget Amendment #17) for municipal purposes, as follows: I. Accept and appropriate $50,000 from the Texas Department of State Health Services for the Hospital Preparedness Grant. IL Accept and appropriate $190, 770 from the Texas Department of State Health Services for the Syphilis Elimination Texas Grant. III. Accept and appropriate $180,000 from the Texas Department of State Health Services for the Community Preparedness Section-Bioterrorism Preparedness-Lab. 'I IV. Approve the amendments to the Adopted FY 2009-10 Operating Budget by $119,406 for Market Lubbock, Inc., as illustrated in Exhibit A. V. Increase the Adopted FY 2009-10 Operating Budget for the Lubbock Economic Development Alliance by $429,302 as illustrated in Exhibit B. VI. Amend Capital Improvement Project 90281, Major Sewer Line Replacement by decreasing the appropriation by $200,000 from $2,435,000 to $2,235,000, and amend Capital Improvement Project 92223, Animal Shelter Wastewater Extension by increasing the appropriation $200,000 from $155,000 to $355,000 for the construction of the wastewater lines for the new Animal Shelter. SECTION 2. THAT a copy of the changes made to the City of Lubbock Budget pursuant to this Ordinance shall be filed with the City Secretary and County Clerk of Lubbock as required by law. SECTION 3. THAT should any section, paragraph, sentence, clause, phrase or word of this Ordinance be declared unconstitutional or invalid for any reason, the remainder of this Ordinance shall not be affected thereby.
