HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance - 2010-O0056 - Amending The FY 2009-10 Budget Municipal Purposes. - 07/08/2010First Reading July 8, 2010 Item No. 5 .1 ORDINANCE NO. 2010-00056 Second Reading July 22, 2010 Item No, 5.1 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE FY 2009-10 BUDGET FOR MUNICIPAL PURPOSES RESPECTING THE GRANT PROGRAM TO ACCEPT AND APPROPRIATE FROM THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND COMMUNITY AFFAIRS FOR THE COMPREHENSIVE ENERGY ASSISTANCE PROGRAM; ACCEPT AND APPROPRIATE FROM THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND COMMUNITY AFFAIRS FOR THE COMMUNITY SERVICES BLOCK GRANT; ACCEPT AND APPROPRIATE FROM THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION FOR CITIBUS OPERATING ASSISTANCE SECTION 5307 GRANT; AND RESPECTING THE OPERATING BUDGET TO APPROPRIATE FROM TI-IE CRIMINAL INVESTIGATIVE FUND FOR THE PURCHASE OF SOFTWARE AND HARDWARE NECESSARY TO SUPPORT TI-IE TIBURON AUTOMATED COMPUTER SYSTEM SERVICES AND SOFTWARE APPLICATIONS. WHEREAS, Section I 02.0 IO of the Local Government Code of the State of Texas authorizes the City Council to make changes in the budget for municipal purposes; and WHEREAS, in accordance with the City Budget Ordinance the City Council shall approve all transfers between funds and departments; and WHEREAS, the City Council deems it advisable to change the FY 2009-10 Budget for municipal purposes and reallocate funds as follows; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: SECTION 1. THAT the City Council of the City of Lubbock hereby approves changes to the FY 2009-10 Adopted Budget (Budget Amendment #16) for municipal purposes, as follows: I. Accept and appropriate an additional $722,381 from the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs for the Comprehensive Energy Assistance Program. II. Accept and appropriate an additional $104,477 from the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs from the Community Services Block Grant. III. Accept and appropriate an additional $34,981 from the Texas Department of Transportation for the Section 5307 grant for Citibus operating assistance. IV. Appropriate $330,000 from the Criminal Investigative Fund for the purchase of servers, software, and network for the support of the Tiburon automated computer system. SECTION 2. THAT a copy of the changes made to the City of Lubbock Budget pursuant to this Ordinance shall be filed with the City Secretary and County Clerk of Lubbock as required by law. SECTION 3. THAT should any section, paragraph, sentence, clause, phrase or word of this Ordinance be declared unconstitutional or invalid for any reason, the remainder of this Ordinance shall not be affected thereby.
