AN ORDINANCE ABANDONING AND CLOSING A 1 0-FOOT ALLEY
LOCATED IN SECTION 11, BLOCKS, ADJACENT TO LOT 1, LOOP INDUSTRIAL
ADDITION TO THE CITY OF LUBBOCK, LUBBOCK COUNTY, TEXAS AND
MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED IN THE BODY OF THIS ORDINANCE;
DIRECTING THE CITY ENGINEER TO MARK THE OFFICIAL MAPS OF THE
CITY TO REFLECT SAID ABANDONMENT AND CLOSING; PROVIDING A
SAVINGS CLAUSE; AND PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION.
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the alley as hereinafter described in the
body of this Ordinance is no longer needed for alley pwposes and for public use; and it
would be in the public interest to close, vacate and abandon the same for alley purposes
and for public use, and it would be in the public interest to close, vacate and abandon the
same; NOW THEREFORE:
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
SECTION 1. THAT the alley as hereinafter described shall BE and the same is
hereby closed, vacated and abandoned for alley purposes and for public use, such alley
being more particularly described in the attached Exhibit .. A".
SECTION 2. THAT the City Engineer is hereby authorized and directed to mark
the official maps of the City of Lubbock to reflect said abandonment and closing,
showing the number of this Ordinance and the date of its final passage.
SECTION 3. THAT should any section, paragraph, sentence, phrase, clause or
word of this Ordinance be declared unconstitutional or invalid for any reason, the
remainder of this Ordinance shall not be affected thereby.
SECTION 4. THAT the City Secretary of the City of Lubbock is hereby
authorized and directed to cause publication of the descriptive caption of this Ordinance
as an alternative method provided by law.
AND IT IS SO ORDERED.

Passed by the City Council on second reading this 22nd day of February , 2007.

METES AND BOUNDS DESCRIPTION for an alley to be closed, located in Section 11, Block S, Lubbock County,
Texas, being further described as follows:
BEGINNING at a 1/2" iron rod with cap set in the South line of Section 11, BlockS, Lubbock County, Texas, and in
the North right-of-way line of U. S. Highway No. 84 as shown on the plat of Lot 1, Loop Industrial Addition to the
City of Lubbock, lubbock County, Texas, according to the map, plat and/or dedication deed thereof recorded in
Volume 790, Page 661, Deed Records of lubbock County, Texas, for the Southwest corner of this tract which
bears N. 89°43'15" E. a distance of 434.81 feet from the Southwest corner of said Section 11, BlockS, Lubbock
County, Texas;
THENCE N. 73°45'28" W., along the North right-of-way line of said U.S. Highway No. 84, a distance of 34.18 feet
to a 3/4" iron rod found in the South line of said Lot 1, Loop Industrial Addition, for the Northwest corner of this tract;
THENCE N. 89°44'24" E., along the South line of said Lot 1, a distance of 961.61 feet to a 5/8" iron rod found in the
West right-of-way line of Spur 331 as shown on the plat of said Lot 1, Loop Industrial Addition, for the Southeast
corner of said Lot 1 ;
THENCE S. 32°05'48" E., along the West right-of-way line of said Spur 331, a distance of 11.06 feet to a 1/2" iron
rod with cap set for the Southeast corner of this tract and the Northeast corner of that tract of land described in
Volume 3837, Page 240, Real Property Records of Lubbock County, Texas (RPRlCT);
THENCE S. 89°43'15" W., at 169.33 feet, pass a 1/2" iron rod with cap found in the North line of said tract
described in Volume 3837, Page 240, RPRLCT, and the Northeast corner of that 3.18 acre tract of land described
in Volume 9786, Page 63, Official Public Records of Lubbock County, Texas, and continuing along the North line of
said 3.18 acre tract, for a total distance of 934.67 feet to the Pont of Beginning.
Contains: 0.208 acres
Bearings relative to the West line of Section 11, BlockS, Lubbock County, Texas, being previously recognized as
N. 00°44'00" W.
