AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE FY 2006-07 BUDGET FOR MUNICIPAL
PURPOSES RESPECTING THE (1) CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM; (2)
CIVIC LUBBOC~ INC.; (3) GENERAL FUND; AND (4) LUBBOCK ECONOMIC
DEVELOPMENT ALLIANCE.
WHEREAS, Section 102.010 of the Local Government Code of the State of
Texas authorizes the City Council to make changes in the budget for municipal purposes;
and
WHEREAS, in accordance with the City Budget Ordinance the City Council shall
approve all transfers between funds and departments; and
WHEREAS, the City Council deems it advisable to change the FY 2006-07
Budget for municipal purposes and reallocate funds as follows; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
SECTION 1. THAT the City Council of the City of Lubbock hereby approves
changes to the City of Lubbock Budget FY 2006-07 (Budget Amendment #4) for
municipal purposes, as follows:
1. Amend Capital Improvement Project #90359 entitled "Southeast Water
Reclamation Plant (SEWRP) Head Works Pump Rehabilitation" by increasing
the appropriation by $1,010,073 for the necessary repair of a major failure of
the screw pumps at the SEWRP, with estimated Revenue from FY 2007
Certificate of Obligation Bonds increased accordingly.
2. Amend Capital Improvement Project #9742 entitled "Water Lines Ahead of
Sharp Freeway" by increasing the appropriation by $1,293,528 for the
completion of this project, also with estimated Revenue from FY 2007
Certificate of Obligation Bonds increased accordingly.
3. Appropriate $390,000 from General Fund balance for a grant to Lubbock
Economic Development Alliance (LEDA) for the development and
diversification of the economy, elimination of unemployment and
underemployment, and the development and expansion of commerce.
4. Appropriate $150,000 of additional General Fund revenue from the sale of
naming rights as a grant to Civic Lubbock, Inc., with estimated revenue
increased accordingly.
5. Appropriate $100,000 of additional General Fund revenue from the sale of
naming rights to pay the South Plains Professional Hockey Club Limited
organization a commission for their role in securing the sale of the naming
rights, with estimated revenue increased accordingly.
SECTION 2. THAT a copy of the changes made to the City of Lubbock Budget
pursuant to this Ordinance shall be filed with the City Secretary and County Clerk of
Lubbock as required by law.
