HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance - 2006-O0019 - Ordinance Delted From Sections 2-15 With Regard To Duties Of The City Secretary - 02/09/2006Fint Reading February 9, 2006 Item No. 6.7 Second Reading February 24, 2006 Item No. 6.4 ORDINANCE NO. 2006-o0019 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 28 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK, TEXAS, BY DELETING THEREFROM SECTIONS 2-15 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK WITH REGARD TO DUTIES OF THE CITY SECRETARY: PROVIDING A SAVING CLAUSE AND PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Lubbock deems it to be in the best interest of the citizens of the City of Lubbock repeal and delete Section 2-15 pertaining to the duties of the City Secretary from the Code of Ordinances ofthe City of Lubbock; NOW THEREFORE: BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK; SECTION 1: THAT Section 2-15 of the Code of Ordinances, City of Lubbock, Texas, is hereby repealed and deleted from the Code of Ordinances. SECTION 2. THAT should any paragraph, section, sentence, phrase, clause or word of this Ordinance be declared unconstitutional or invalid for any reason, the remainder of this Ordinance shall not be affected thereby. SECTION 3. THAT the City Secretary is hereby authorized and directed to cause publication of the descriptive caption of this Ordinance as an alternative method of publication provided by law. AND IT IS SO ORDERED.
