HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance - 2005-O0112 - Amending Fy 2005-06 Budget: Electric, Water, General, Grant Funds, Amendment 1 - 09/21/2005!First Reading SepteJiber 21, 2005 Item Ho. 39 ORDINANCE NO. 2005-o0112 Second Reading October 13, 2005 Itea Ho. 4.5 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE FY 2005-06 BUDGET FOR MUNICIPAL PURPOSES RESPECTING 1) ELECTRIC FUND; 2) WATER FUND; 3) GENERAL FUND; AND 4) GRANT FUND. (AMENDMENT #1) WHEREAS, Section 102.010 of the Local Govenunent Code of the State of Texas authorizes the City Council to make changes in the budget for municipal purposes; and WHEREAS, in accordance with the City Budget Ordinance the City Council shall approve all transfers between funds, accounts, departments or programs for City purposes; and WHEREAS, the City Council deems it advisable to change the FY 2005-06 Budget for municipal purposes and reallocate funds as follows; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: SECTION 1. THAT the City Council of the City of Lubbock hereby approves changes to the City of Lubbock Budget FY 2005-06 (Budget Amendment #1) for municipal purposes as set forth, as follows: 1. Transfer $160,000 from the Water Fund to the Electric Fund for modifications to the Banner billing system associated with an average winter consumption water rate structure. 2. Accept and appropriate funding from the Texas State Library and Archives Commission in the amount of $3 73,151 to provide for operation of the offices and personnel of the West Texas Library System in the Grant Fund. 3. Accept and appropriate funding from the Texas State Library and Archives Commission in the amount of $80,000 to provide for technical assistance to area libraries in the Grant Fund. 4. Accept and appropriate funding from the Texas State Library and Archives Commission in the amount of $77,605 to provide for operation of the offices of the Interlibrary Loan Office in the Grant Fund. 5. Accept and appropriate funding from the Texas Department of State Health Services in the amount of $50,251 to provide for HN/AIDS Surveillance in the Grant Fund. 6. Accept and appropriate funding from the Texas Department of State Health Services in the amount of$349,318 to provide for CPS Bioterrorism Preparedness in the Grant Fund. 7. Accept and appropriate funding from the Texas Department of State Health Services in the amount of$199,760 to provide for CPS Bioterrorism Preparedness Lab in the Grant Fund. 8. Accept and appropriate funding from the Texas Department of State Health Services in the amount of $3,050 to provide for Milk and Dairy Product Services Equipment in the Grant Fund. 9. Accept and appropriate funding from the Texas Department of State Health Services in the amount of $59,277 to provide for Regional and Local Services Section in the Grant Fund. 10. Accept and appropriate funding from the Texas Department of State Health Services in the amount of $138,264 to provide for Immunization in the Grant Fund. 11. Accept and appropriate funding from the Texas Department of State Health Services in an amount not to exceed $14,000 to provide for Milk and Dairy Products Services in the Grant Fund. 12. Accept and appropriate funding in the amount of $200,000 to provide for STEP Program. Transfer $100,000 from the General Fund to the Grant Fund to fund the City's portion and $100,000 being reimbursed from the Texas Department of Transportation in the Grant Fund. 13. Accept and appropriate funding in the amount of $280,000 from the Office of Justice Programs to provide for the purchase of specialized training equipment to be used to improve the City's capability to respond to all hazards, including acts of terrorism. SECTION 2. THAT a copy of the changes made to the City of Lubbock Budget pursuant to this Ordinance shall be filed with the City Secretary and County Clerk of Lubbock as required by law.
