AN ORDINANCE ABANDONING AND CLOSING THE FOLLOWING POR-
TION OF ALLEY: THE EAST-WEST ALLEY IN CUNNINGHAM'S SUBDIVI-
SION TO THE CITY OF LUBBOCK, LUBBOCK COUNTY, TEXAS, AND MOR
PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED IN THE BODY OF THIS ORDINANCE; DIRECT
ING THE CITY ENGINEER TO MARK THE OFFICIAL MAP OF THE CITY OF
LUBBOCK TO INDICATE THE CLOSING AND ABANDONMENT OF THAT
CERTAIN ALLEY; PROVIDING A SAVINGS CLAUSE AND PROVIDING FOR
PUBLICATION.
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the alley portion hereinafter des-
cribed is no longer needed for alley purposes and for public use; and,
WHEREAS., the City Council finds it would be to the public interest to
close, vacate and abandon the same for alley purposes ~nd to public use; and
NOW THEREFORE:
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF.THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
SECTION 1. THAT the alley portion as hereinafter described shall BE
and the same is hereby closed, vacated and abandoned for alley purposes and
for public use;
The East-West alley in Cunningham's Sub di vision
to the City of Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas,
being more particularly described as follows:
BEGINNING at a point 5. 00 feet West of the North-
east corner of Lot 7, said addition;
THENCE West a distance of 413. 5 feet to the North-
west corner of Lot 7;
THENCE North a distance of 15. 00 feet to the S011tp.-
west corner of Lot 6 1 said addition;
THENCE East a distance of 398. 4 feet to the South-
east corner of Lot 11 said addition;
THENCE South 45° East a distance of 21. 21 feet
to the PLACE OF BEGINNING.

SECTION 2. THAT the City Engineer is hereby authorized and directed
to mark the official map of the City of Lubbock to indicate that the alley des-

cribed in Section 1 hereof has been closed and abandoned, showing the num-
ber of this Ordinance and the date of its final passage.
SECTION 3. THAT should any section, paragraph, sentence, phr.ase,
clause or word of this Ordinance be declared unconstitutional or invalid for
any reason, the remainder of this Ordinance shall not be affected thereby.
SECTION 4. THAT the City Secretary is hereby authorized and directed
to cause publication of the descriptive caption of this Ordinance as an alterna
tive method provided by law.
AND IT IS SO ORDERED.
