AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 1695 AND THE OFFI AL
P OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK SO AS TO MAKE THE FOLLOWING CHANGE: Z E
CASE N0.1773-B: . CHANGE LOTS 128 THROUGH 133, MELONIE GARDENS
ODITION, CITY OF LUBBOCK, LUBBOCK COUNTY, TEXAS, FROM R-2 TO R-1
ZONING DISTRICT. PROVIDING A SAVINGS CLAUSE AND PROVIDING FOR
UBLICATION.
WHEREAS, the proposed change in Zoning Districts as hereinaf r
ade has been duly presented to the Planning and Zoning Comrnissib
for its recommendation which was received by the City Council and
after due consideration, the City Council finds that making the p -
osed change as hereinafter set out will be in the public interes
and,
WHEREAS, all conditions precedent required by law for a vali
amendment to the Zoning Ordinance and Map have been fully complie
ith, as well as giving notices in compliance with Section 20 of
ernon's Annotated Civil Statutes, amended in 1961, and notice wa
duly published in the Lubbock Morning Avalanche Journal more than
fifteen (15) days prior to the date of the public hearing before e
City Council on such proposed amendment, and the public hearing
according to said notice was duly held in the City Council Chambe
on the Second Floor of the City Hall, Lubbock, Texas, at which ti
persons appeared in support of the proposal; and, after said hear· g,
it was by the City Council determined that it would be in the pub c
interest, due to changed conditions, that the Zoning Ordinance an
the zoning Map be amended in the manner hereinafter set forth in e
body of this Ordinance and this ordinance having been introduced ior
to first reading hereof; NOW THEREFORE:
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
SECTION 1. THAT Ordinance No. 1695 and the Official Zoning

Change Lots 128 through 133, Melonie Gardens Addition,
City of Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas, from R-2 to R-1
Zoning District.
SECTION 2. THAT from and after passage and effective date o
this Ordinance, said lots, tracts and parcels of land described i
Section 1 hereof shall be changed to the Zoning District indicate
and the Official Map is amended in accordance herewith.

SECTION 3. THAT should any Section, paragraph, sentence, cl use,
phrase or word of this Ordinance be declared unconstitutional or ·n-
valid for any reason, the remainder of this Ordinance shall not b
affected thereby.
SECTION 4. THAT the City S.ecretary is hereby authorized and
irected to cause publication of the descriptive caption of this
rdinance as an alternative method provided by law.
