~, the City Council of the City of Lubbock, upon the basis of
an engineering and traffic investigation finds it necessary to alter
prima facie speed limits as established by Section 166 (A) (1) of Article
670ld, Vemon's Annotated Civil statutes, within the areas and the loca-
tions named and designated in the body of this Ordinance, all within the
coipOrate limits of the City of Iilbbock; N:W !I.'BEREFORE:
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COOI.'CIL OF THE CITY OF Lt:JBBOCK:
SECTION 1. THAT the prima facie speed limits on the following
streets and highways in the urban district set forth belOW' are hereby al-
tered and changed as hereinafter set forth upon the following described
portions of streets and/or highways located within the City of Lubbock,
Lubbock County, Texas, to-wit:
1. A 50 mph speed zone on Quirt Avenue from Regis
Street to Bluefield Street.
2. A 40 mph speed zone en the Iilbbock International
AiipOrt Terminal Access Road from Bluefield Street
(Station 0+00) northerly 2160 feet to Station
21+60.
3. A 30 mph speed zone on the Lubbock International
AiipOrt Terminal Access Road from station 21 +60,
northerly and westerly 775 feet to Station 29+35.
4. A 20 mph speed zone on the Lubbock International
AiipOrt Terminal Access Road from station 29+35,
westerly, southerly and easterly 1309 feet to
station 42+44.
5. A 30 mph speed zone . on the Lubbock International
Airport Terminal Access Road from station 42+44,
easterly and southerly 1008 feet to Station 52+52.

6. A 40 nph speed zone on the Lubbock International
Airport Terminal Access Road from Station 52+52,
southerly 1270 feet to Bluefield Street.
SECTION 2. THAT all Ordinances or parts of Ordinances conflicting
with any of the provisions hereof are hereby repealed insofar as such
conflict exists.
SECTION 3. mAT all highways or streets not specifically set forth
in the preceding sections hereof shall not be affected by the provisions
hereof, and this Ordinance shall be cumulative of all other prima facie
speed limit Ordinances except those with which it specifically conflicts.
SECTION 4. THAT the City Manager is hereby authorized and directed
to cause the placing and maintenance of such traffic control signals
and/or devices and/or signs as shall be necessary to apprise the public
of the zones as hereinabove set forth.
SECTION 5. THAT violation of any provisions of this Ordinance
shall be deemed a misdemeanor punishable by a fine not to exceed two
hundred dollars as provided in Section 1-4 of the City Code.
SECTION 6. THAT should any paragraph, sentence, clause, phrase or
word of this Ordinance be declared unconstitutional or invalid for any
reason, the remainder of this Ordinance shall not be affected thereby.
SECTION 7. THAT the City Secretary is hereby authorized to cause
p.:lblication of the descriptive caption and penalty clause of this
Ordinance as an alternative method provided by law.
AND IT IS SO ORDERED.
