ORDINANCE NO. 8963
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 7084 AND THE
OFFICIAL MAP OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK MAKING THE FOLLOWING
CHANGES: ZONE CASE NO. 1061-F; A ZONING CHANGE FROM C-3 to C-4
ZONING, LIMITED TO CERTAIN USES, ON TRACT 1-C, TREASURE ISLAND
ADDITION, LUBBOCK, TEXAS; SUBJECT TO CONDITIONS; PROVIDING A
PENALTY1 PROVIDING A SAVINGS CLAUSE AND PROVIDING FOR PUBLICA-
TION.
WHEREAS, the proposed changes in zoning as hereinafter
made have been duly presented to the Planning and Zoning Com-
mission for its recommendation which was received by the City
Council and, after due consideration, the City Council finds
that due to changed conditions, it would be expedient and in
the interest of the public health, morals, and qeneral welfare
to make those proposed chanqes in zoning1 and
WHEREAS, all conditions precedent required by law for a
valid amendment to the Zoning Ordinance and Map have been
fully complied with, as well as givinq notices in compliance
with Section 29-29 of the Code of Ordinances, City of Lubbock,
Texas, as well as notices provided by Article lOllf, Vernon's
Annotated Civil Statutes, and notice was duly published in the
Lubbock Avalanche-Journal more than fifteen (15) days prior to
the date of the public hearing before the City Council on such
proposed amendment, and the public hearing according to said
notice was duly held in the City Council Room of the City
Hall, Lubbock, Texas, at which time persons appeared in
support of the proposal; and, after said hearing, it was by
the City Council determined that it would be in the public
interest, due to changed conditions, that the Zoning Ordinance
l, and the Zoning Map be amended in the manner hereinafter set
forth in the body of this Ordinance and this Ordinance having
!] been introduced prior to first reading hereof; NOW THEREFORE:
II BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:

jl SECTION 1. THAT Ordinance No. 7084 and the Official
jj Zoninq Map BE and the same are hereby amended as follows, to-
: wit:
A change of zoning from c-3 to C-4 zoning district, lim-
ited to certain listed uses, under provisions of Section
29-29 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Lubbock,
on Tract 1-c, Treasure Island Addition, City of Lubbock,
Lubbock County, Texas, located on the southwest corner of
West 4th Street and Loop 289, and subject to conditions.
SUBJECT TO THE FOLLOWING CONDITIONS:
a. The zoning shall be C-4 limited to the following
uses:
1. Muffler Shop
2. Automobile Brake Shop
3. Automobile Glass Shop
4. Automobile Seat cover and Upholstery Shop
5. Automobile Transmission Shop
6. Public repair qarage. (outside storaqe of cus-
tomer automobiles authorized); and
b. That all work and separate parts shall be inside a
building; and
c. That siqnaqe shall be located as shown on the site
plan, with a maximum of 50 square feet of siqnage
allowed for a free standinq sign.
SECTION 2. THAT violation of any provisions of this or-
dinance shall be deemed a misdemeanor punishable by a fine not
to exceed one thousand dollars as provided in Section 29-3l(a) ! of the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Lubbock.
!: SECTION 3. THAT should any paragraph, sentence, clause, ,.

ill phrase or word of this Ordinance be declared unconstitutional
or invalid for any reason, the remainder of this ordinance
It shall not be affected thereby.

SECTION 4. THAT the City Secretary is hereby authorized to
cause publication of the descriptive caption of this Ordinance as
an alternative method provided by law.
AND IT IS SO ORDERED.
