HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance - 2017-O0134 - Amending Budget 2017-18 Municipal Purposes - 10/26/2017II First Reading October 26, 2017 Item No. 6.2 ORDINANCE NO. 2017-00134 Second Reading November 2, 2017 Item No. 6.1 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING TilE FY 2017-18 BUDGET FOR MUNICIPAL PURPOSES RESPECTING THE GRANT FUND TO ACCEPT AND APPROPRIATE FUNDING FROM THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF AGING AND DISABILITY SERVICES (TOADS) PASS- THROUGH FEDERAL FUNDS FROM THE SOUTH PLAINS ASSOCIATION OF GOVERNMENTS (SPAG) FOR THE AREA AGENCY ON AGING (AAA) --DIRECT PURCHASE OF SERVICES GRANT; PROVIDING FOR FILING; AND PROVIDING FOR A SAVINGS CLAUSE. WHEREAS, Section 102.010 of the Local Government Code of the State of Texas authorizes the City Council to make changes in the budget for municipal purposes; and WHEREAS, in accordance \vith the City Budget Ordinance the City Council shall approve all transfers bet\veen funds; and WHEREAS, the City Council deems it advisable to change the FY 2017-18 Budget for municipal purposes and reallocate funds as follows; NOW, TIIEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: SECTION 1. THAT the City Council of the City of Lubbock hereby approves changes to the City of Lubbock Budget FY 2017-18 (Budget Amendment #2) for municipal purposes, as follows: I. Accept and appropriate $165,717 from TOADS pass-through federal funding from SPAG for the AAA Direct Purchase of Services Grant and appropriate $34,055 of program revenue, for a total program budget of $216,814. SECTION 2. THAT a copy of the changes made to the City of Lubbock Budget pursuant to this Ordinance shall be filed vv·ith the City Secretary and County Clerk of Lubbock as required by la\v. SECTION 3. THAT should any section, paragraph, sentence, clause, phrase or word of this Ordinance be declared unconstitutional or invalid for any reason, the remainder of this Ordinance shall not be affected thereby.
