ORDINANCE NO. 2017 00131
AN ORDINANCE ABANDONING AND CLOSING PORTIONS OF A
STORMW ATER STORAGE EASEMENT AND A DRAINAGE EASEMENT
LOCATED IN SECTION 4, BLOCK AK, LUBBOCK COUNTY, TEXAS, WHICH IS
MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED IN THE BODY OF THIS ORDINANCE;
DIRECTING THE CITY ENGINEER TO MARK THE OFFICIAL MAPS OF THE
CITY TO REFLECT SAID ABANDONMENT AND CLOSING; PROVIDING A
SAVINGS CLAUSE; AND PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION.
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the easements hereinafter described in the
body of this Ordinance are no longer needed for easement purposes and for public use;
and it would be in the public interest to close, vacate and abandon the same for easement
purposes and for public use; NOW THEREFORE:
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
SECTION 1. THAT the easements are hereinafter described shall BE and the
same are hereby closed. vacated and abandoned for easement purposes and for public
use. such casements being more particularly described in Exhibit "'A" & '"B."
SECTION 2. THAT the City Engineer is hereby authorized and directed to mark
the official maps of the City of Lubbock to rellect said abandonment and closing,
showing the number of this Ordinance and the date of its final passage.
SECTION 3. THAT should any section, paragraph, sentence, phrase, clause or
word of this Ordinance be declared unconstitutional or invalid for any reason, the
remainder of this Ordinance shall not be affected thereby.
SECTION 4. THAT the City Secretary of the City of Lubbock is hereby
authorized and directed to cause publication of the descriptive caption ofthis Ordinance as
an alternative method provided by law.
AND IT IS SO ORDERED.

easement as described un County Clerk File Number 2015019451 of the Official Public Records of Lubbock County,
Texas , located in Section 4, Block AK, Lubbock County, Texas, being further described as follows:
BEGINNING at a 1/2" iron rod with cap found (HRA) in the Eastern boundary of said storm water storage and drainage
easement for the Southeast corner of this tract which bears N. 01 °45'55" E. a distance of 1688.74 feet and N. 88°14'05" W.
a distance of 63.08 feet from a cross hatch nail with washer found at the Southeast corner of Section 4, Block AK, Lubbock
County, Texas;
THENCE N. 88°14'05" W. a distance of 510.82 feet to a 1/2" iron rod with cap found at the Southwest corner of this tract;
THENCE N. 01 °46'31" E. a distance of 572.32 feet to a 1/2" iron rod with cap found (HRA) at a corner of said storm water
storage and drainage easement and the Northwest corner of this tract;
THENCE S. 88°13'29" E., along the Eastern boundary of said storm water storage and drainage easement, a distance of

of this tract;
THENCE S. 01 °45'55" W., continuing along the Eastern boundary of said storm water storage and drainage easement and
the Western boundary of said 1.409 acre tract, at 180.00 feet pass a found 2" iron pipe found at the Southwest corner of
said 1.409 acre tract, continuing along the Eastern boundary of said storm water storage and drainage easement for a total
distance of 571.90 feet to a point for a corner of this tract;
THENCE S. 88°1 0'11" E., continuing along the Eastern boundary of said storm water storage and drainage easement, a
distance of 277.92 feet to a point for a corner of said storm water storage and drainage easement and the most Easterly
