AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 7084 AND THE OFFICIAL MAP OF THE CITY
OF LUBBOCK SO AS TO MAKE THE FOLLOWING CHANGE: ZONE CASE NO. 2203; CHANGE A TRACT
OF LAND OUT OF SECTION 22 ., BLOCK A, Cl.TY OF LUBBOCK, LUBBOCK COUNTY, TEXAS, FROM
R-1 TO A-1 ZONING DISTRICT; SUBJECT TO A CONDITION; PR-OVIDING FOR A PENA~TY AS
PROVIDED FOR IN SECT I ON 1-5 OF THE CI.TY CODE; PROVIDING A SAVINGS CLAUSE AND PRO-
V ID I NG FOR PUBLICATION. . -
WHEREAS, the proposed change in zoning districts as hereinafter made has been
duly presented to the Planni.ng and Zoni"ng Commission for its recommendation which was
received by the City Council" and, after due consideration, the City Council finds
that making the proposed change as hereinafter set out wi]J be in the public inter-

WHEREAS, all conditions precedent required by law for a valid amendment to the
Zoning Ordinance and Map have been fully complied with, as well as giving notices
in comp 1 i ance with Section 26 of Ordinance No. 7084, as we 11 as notices· provided by
Article 101lf, Vernon's Annotated Civil Statutes, amended in 1961, and notice was
duly published in the Lubbock Morning Avalanche-Journal more than fifteen (15) days
prior to the date of the public hearing before the City Council on such proposed
amendment, and the public hearing according to said notice was duly held in the
City Council Room on the second floor of ·the City Hall, Lubbock, Texas, at which
time persons appeared in support of the proposal; and, after said hearing, it was
by the City Council determined that it would be in the public interest," due to
changed conditions, that the Zoning Ordinance and the Zoning Map be amended in the
man.ner hereinafter set forth in t"he body of this Ordinance and this Ordinance having
been introduced prior to first readi_ng hereof; NOW THEREFORE: ·
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: . .
SECTION 1. THAT Ordinance No. 7084 and the Official Zon~ng Map BE and the same
are hereby amended as follows, to-wit:
ZONE CASE NO. 2203
Change a tract of land out of Section 22, Block A, City of Lubbock, Lubbock
Cou.nty, Texas, from R-1 to A-l zoning district. This property is further
described by metes and bounds as follows:
BEGINNING at a point which bears East 2307.7 feet, and North 2014.18 feet
from the Southwest corner of Section 22, B1ock A, T.T. RR. Co. Survey, the
Southwest corner of this tract of land, and the Point of ~eginni_ng.
THENCE North 1230·.52 feet to a point in the Southerly right-of-way line of
Loop 289, the Northwest corner of this tract of land. ·
THENCE North 53°03 1 East 400.00 feet along the Southerly right-of-way line
of Loop 289 to the Northeast corner of this tract of I and;·
THENCE South 36°57• East 85.00 feet along the Westerly ~ight-of-way line of

SUBJECT TO THE FOLLOWING CONDITION:
1. THAT development of this tract be restricted to duplexes and
quadraplexes.
SECTION 2. THAT from and after passage and effective date of this Ordinance
said lots, tracts and parcels of land described in Section 1 hereof shall be changed
to the zoni_ng district indicated and the Official Map is amended in accordance here-
with.
SECTION 3. THAT violation of any provisions of this ordinance shall be deemed a
misdemeanor punishable by a fine oot to exceed two hundred Dollars as provided in
Section 1-5 of the City Code. s
SECTION 4. THAT should any section, paragraph, sentence, clause, phrase or word
of this Ordinance be declared unconstitutional or invalid for any reason, the remain-
der of this Ordinance shall not be affected thereby.
SECTION 5. THAT the City Secretary is hereby authorized to cause pub] ication of
the.descriptive caption of this Ordinance as an alternative method provided by law.
