HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance - 7733-1978 - Ordinance 7733 Abnandoning/Closing Portions Of Alley: Keeton Addition - 09/14/1978JWF: hw 773 ::S ORDINANCE NO. 7733 AN ORDINANCE ABANDONING AND CLOSING THE FOLLOWING PORTIONS OF ALLEY: A PORTION OF ALLEY IN KEETON ADDITION TO THE CITY OF LUBBOCK, LUBBOCK COUNTY, TEXAS, AND MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED IN THE BODY OF THIS ORDINANCE; DIRECTING THE CITY ENGINEER TO MARK THE OFFICIAL MAP OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK TO INDICATE THE CLOSING AND ABANDONMENT OF THAT CERTAIN STREET ALLEY, PROVIDING A SAVINGS CLAUSE AND PRO-, VIDING FOR PUBLICATION. WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the Alley portions hereinafter described are no longer needed for Alley purposes and for public use; and, WHEREAS, the City Council finds it would be to the public interest to close, vacate and abandon the same for Alley purposes and to public use; and NOW THEREFORE: BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: SECTION 1. THAT the Alley portions as hereinafter described shall BE and the same are hereby closed, vacated and abandoned for Alley purposes and for public use; The 20.00 foot North-South alley in Keeton Addition to the City of Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas, being more particu- larly described as follows: BEGINNING at the Southeast corner of Lot 1-A, Keeton Addition; THENCE East a distance of 20.00 feet to the Southwest corner of Lot 2, Keeton Addition; THENCE North, along the East line of Lots 2 through 6, said addition, a distance of 290.00 feet to a point 10.00 feet South of the Northwest corner of Lot 6, Keeton Addition; THENCE West a distance of 30.00 fe~t to a point; THENCE Southeasterly a distance of 14.14 feet to a point; THENCE South a distance of 280.00 feet to the PLACE OF BEGINNING, SECTION 2. THAT the City Engineer is hereby authorized and directed to mark the official map of the City of Lubbock to indicate that the Alley described in Section 1 hereof has been closed and abandoned, showing the number of this Ordinance and the date of its final passage. SECTION 3. THAT should any section, paragraph, sentence, phrase, clause or word of this Ordinance be declared unconstitutional or invalid for any reason, the remainder of this Ordinance shall not be affected thereby, SECTION 4. THAT the City Secretary is hereby authorized and directed to cause publication of the descriptive caption of this Ordinance as an alternative method : . ,,, ' provided by law. AND IT IS SO ORDERED.
