AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 7084 AND THE OFFICIAL MAP OF THE CITYr
OF LUBBOCK SO AS TO MAKE THE FOLLOWING CHANGES: ZONE CASE NO. 1875-E; CHANGE A TRACi
OF LAND OUT OF LOT 7, COMMANDER'S ADDITION, Cl.TY OF LUBBOCK, LUBBOCK COUNTY, TEXAS,
FROM R-1 TO R-2 ZONING DISTRICT; CHANGE A TRACT OF LAND OUT OF LOT 7, COMMANDER 1 S
ADDITION, Cl.TY OF LUBBOCK, LUBBOCK COUNTY, TEXAS, FROM R-2 TO R-1 ZONING DISTRICT;
PROVIDING FOR A PENALTY AS PROVID[D FOR IN SECTION 1-5 OF THE CITY CODE; PROVIDING A
SAilNGS CLAUSE AND PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION.
WHEREAS, the proposed changes in zoning districts as hereinafter made have been
duly presented to the Planning· and Zoning ·commission for its recommendation which wa
received by the City Council. and, aftei due consideration, the City Council finds
that making the proposed changes as hereinafter set out will be in the public inter-
est; and; ·
WHEREAS, all conditions precedent required by law for a valid amendment to the
Zoning Ordinance and Map have been fully complied with, as well as giving notices
in compliance with Section 26 of Ordinance No. 7084, as wel 1 as notices· provided by
Article 1011f, Vernon's Annotated Civil Statutes, amended in 1961, and notice was
duly published in the Lubbock Morning Avalanche-Journal more than fifteen {15) days
prior to the date of the public he~ring before the City Council on such proposed
amendment, and the public hearing according to said notice was duly held in the
City Council Room on the second· floor of ·the City Hall, Lubbock, Texas, at which
time persons appeared in support of the proposal; and, after said heari_ng, it was
by the City Counci1 determined that it would be in the public interest, due to
changed conditions, that the Zoning Ordinance and the Zoning Map be amended in the
man.ner hereinafter set forth in the body of this Ordinance and this Ordinance having
been introduced prior to first reading hereof; NOW THEREFORE: ·

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
SECTION l. THAT Ordinance No. 7084 and the Official Zoni_ng Map BE and the same
are hereby amended as follows, to-wit:
ZONE CASE NO. 1875-E.
A. Cha_nge a tract of land out of Lot 7, Corrmander 1 s Addition, City of
Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas, from R-1 to R-2 zoning district.
This property is further described by metes and bounds as follows:
BEGINNING at a point which is the Southwest corner of Lot 7, Commander's
Addition to the City of Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas;
THENCE North an approximate distance of 170.00 feet;
THENCE East an approximate distance of 610.00 feet;
THENCE South an approximate distance of 125.00 feet to a point ~f curvature;
THENCE Southerly around a curve to the right, said curve having an approximate
radius of 15.00 feet, and an approximate chord distance of 21'.21 feet;
THENCE Northwesterly an approximately distance of 335.00 feet;
THENCE Southwesterly an approximate distance of 260.00 feet to the PLACE
OF BEGINNING, containi_ng 2.06 acres m,ore or less.

B. Change a tract of land out of Lot 7, Commander's Addition, City of
Lub.bock, Lubbock County, Texas, from R-2 to R-1 zoning district.
This property is further described. by metes and boun.ds as foJlows:
BEGINNING at a point which bears North an approximate distance of 1350.00
feet from the Southwest corner of Lot 7, Colffllander's Addition to the City
of Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas;
THENCE North an approximate distance of 390.00 feet;
THENCE East an approximate distance of 140.00 feet;
THENCE South an approximate d istaace of 80.00 feet;
THENCE East an approximate distance of 480.00 feet;
THENCE South an approximate distance of 305.00 feet;
THENCE West an approximate d istance of 615.00 feet to the PLACE OF BEGINNING,
containing 4.7 acres, more or less.
SECTION 2. THAT from and after passage and effective date of this Ordinance
said lots, tracts and parcels of land deicribed in Section 1 hereof shall be changed
to the zoning district indicated and the Official Map is amended in accordance here-
with. .
SECTION 3. THAT violation~,of any prov1s1ons of tliiis ordinance shall be deemed
a misdemeanor punishable by a fine not to exceed TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS ($200.00) as
provided in Section 1-5 of the City Code.
SECTION 4. THAT should any section, paragraph, sentence, clause, phrase or word
of this Ordinance be declared unconstitutional or invalid for any reason, the remain-
der of this Ordinance shall not be affected thereby.
SECTION 5. THAT the City Secretary is hereby authorized to cause pub(ication of
the descriptive caption of ~his Ordinance_·as an alternative method provided by law.
