HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution - 2019-R0454 - LP&L Substation Names - 12/03/2019 Resolution No. 2019-RO454 Item No. 7.21 December 3, 20190 RESOLUTION WHEREAS, Lubbock Power & Light is the municipally owned electric utility of the City of Lubbock ("LP&L"); WHEREAS, as LP&L nears integration of the Affected Load into the Electric Reliability Council of Texas Regional Transmission Organization ("ERCOT"), LP&L will own and operate new substations as part of the integration; WHEREAS, it is necessary for LP&L to have specific names for these substations for reference in design and construction, and for ERCOT protocols; WHEREAS,the City Council of the City of Lubbock desires to name these new substations that will be part of the ERCOT integration; NOW, THEREFORE: BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: The following substations are to be named as follows: ■ Yellow House Canyon Substation, for the LP&L substation to be constructed near X-FAB and near Yellow House Canyon Park (previously referred to as X-FAB Substation); ■ Dunbar Substation, for the LP&L substation to be constructed east of Loop 289, and east of existing Wadsworth Substation,near the Dunbar Historical Lake (previously referred to as Wadsworth Substation); and ■ Posey Substation, for the LP&L substation to be constructed south of Lubbock, near the community of Posey (previously referred to as New Oliver Substation).
