AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 7084 AND THE OFFICIAL MAP OF THE
CITY OF LUBBOCK SO AS TO MAKE THE FOLLOWING CHANGES: ZONE CASE NO. 2191; CHANGE nJO
TRACTS OF LAND OUT OF SECTION 9, BLOCK J-S, CITY OF LUBBOCK, LUBBOCK COUNTY, TEXAS,
FROM R-1 TO R-2 , ZONING DISTRICT; CHANGE TWO TRACTS OF LAND OUT OF SECTION 9,'BilOCl( J· S

TWO TRACTS OF LAND OUT OF SECTION 9, BLOCK J-S, CITY OF LUBBOCK, LUBBOCK COUNTY,
TEXAS, FROM R-1 TO A-1 ZONING DISTRICT; PROVIDING FOR A PEANLTY. AS PROVIDED FOR IN
SECTION 1-5 OF THE CITY CODE; PROVIDING A SAVINGS CLAUSE AND PROVIDING FOR PUBLICA-
TION.
WHEREAS, the proposed changes in zoning districts as hereinafter made have been
du 1 y presented to the P 1 ann i ng· and Zoning 'commission for its recommendation which wa•
received by the City Council° and, after· due consideration, the City Council finds
that making the proposed changes as hereinafter set out will be in the public inter-
est; and; ·
WHEREAS, all conditions precedent required by ]aw for a valid amendment to the
Zoning Ordinance and Map have been fully complied with, as wel 1 as gi.v.i,.og .. notices
in compliance with Section 26 of Ordinance No. 7084, as well a.s notices· provided by
Article IOllf, Vernon 1 s Annotated Civil Statutes, amended in 1961, and notice was
duly published in the Lubbock Morning Avalanche-Journal more than fifteen (15) days
prior to the date of the public hearing before the City Council on such proposed
amendment, and the public hearing according to said notice was duly held in the
City Council Room on the second floor of "the City Ha 11, Lubbock, Texas, at which
time persons appeared in support of the proposa 1 ; and, after said hear i_ng, it was
by the City Council determined that it would be in the public interest, due to
changed conditions, that the Zoning Ordinance and the Zoning Map be amended in the
man.ner hereinafter set forth in t'he body of this Ordinance and this Ordinance hav i _ng
been introduced prior to f i rs t read i_ng hereof; NOW THEREFORE:
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
SECTION 1 • THAT Ordinance No. 7084 and the Off i c i a 1 Zon i_ng Map BE and the same
are hereby amended as follows, to-wit:

A. Change a tract of land out of Section 9, Block J-S, City of Lubbock,

THENCE Easterly an approximate distance of 380 feet to the PLACE
OF BEGINNING.
SECTION 2. THAT from and after passage and effective date of this Ordinance
said lots~ tracts and parcels of land des·cribed in Section 1 hereof shal 1 be changed
to the zoni_ng district indicated and the Official Map is amended in accordance here-
with.
SECTION 3. THAT violation of any prov1s1ons of this ordinanc~ ~h~ll. be deemed
a misdemeanor punishable by a fine not to exceed two ~undred dollars as provided in
Section 1-5 of_ the Ci tyf.CGide~
SECTION 4. THAT should any section, paragraph, sentence, clause, phrase or wor
of this Ordinance be declared unconstitutional or invalid for any reason, the remain
der of this Ordinance shall not be affected thereby.
SECTION 5. THAT the City Secretary is hereby authorized to cause publication o
the descriptive caption of this Ordinance as an alternative method provided by law.
